A quick feature overview of the new boards

* Much easier formatting (to make stuff bold, italic, add links, etc)
* Avatar uploading (80x80 pixels max, please) - can be any image you want! Something thats distinctly YOU!
* Private messaging right on the boards
* See whose online when you are
* Ability to (if we decide to) set up inidividual moderators for the local boards
* Ability for admin (thats me!) to post "Announcement" and "Sticky" style posts that stay at the top
* Ability to integrate polls!

And I'm sure there's more, but I can't remember off the top of my head :moon:

Oh yeah - and ranks too! The ranks are determined by the # pf posts you have posted on the boards...

This is just too cool. I hope I can get used to it. Anyway of extending the sig a little...even after chopping half of mine off, it says its too long. Actually, I chopped everything except the titles given to me...if you can't, that's fine too. I'll have to learn to be a bit more circumspect, is all. 8)

Uhg....any ideas on why? I know Steve/Mage thought it might have to do with my browser and dumping my cookies...tried that and it doesn't work and my browser is the same one I used for the old site styles.....

You should check off the "Log me in every time" checkbox

The software is widely used - I have had it running on at least 5 other sites for ages, and its been great. For a while there, Phorum was the best stuff outthere, and so thts what we used. PHPBB (this software) has just gotten so far ahead, it seemed like the best thing to do. As I had said before, I wanted to move us over into this software a while back, but since there's no direct way to convert the two, I was stalling :D Our forums have been around longer that just about every one elses, so we have gone through so many incarnations of them!

I can attest to that one.. When I get up at 6 AM est... She is still online from when I went to bed, and sometimes when I check mid-day!

All this talk about sleep makes me want a :bath: then go :yawn: to bed.

The Checkmark seems to work for me as well.. The only time I have to log back in.. is when I change PCs, but then again the info is cookie driven and well.. I can't take them with me.. :wink:

When will you link the new forums to the forums tab on the website? I keep having to dig through the original thread on the old forums to get the link to here. I am in the novice group with a computer; I know I can put the new forums under my favorites on the home computer, but when I am sneaking a peek at work, I really shouldn't have the wench home page saved on the bank's computer!! Don't think they would get it..... :thumbsdo: In addition, I think it would be the end of my career with FNB :rip:

Again, just in case the mass response hasn't proven it, you rock baby!! :bananada:

However, I had a heck of a time getting back on even though I had just joined..so I just rejoined all over again lol...it was the only way I could get back on the board...so if ya'll see a blue thundercloud hanging over the TX area its just the leftover language I was thinking while trying to get on again...
