I'm sorting out the local usergroups, and I need to test the permissions and such. If you're able to help and have a few minutes (and you're online right now), please let me know.

Why thankee! Okay, I haven't finished setting all of the groups up yet (they are the same groups we had before, and previous memberships should still be there), but since I'm an admin, I can't tell what the behavior is for a normal user.
When you go here:
http://www.wench.org/forums/profile.php?do=editusergroups
And you try to join a group - what happens?

One thing I noticed on the page.. is in the "Joining Conditions" column, it's saying that anyone is free to join the group, but if you're setting up the groups for members of that particular Local/Elected Officials/The Boys, shouldn't the conditions be specific to that group?

I just gave it a try. All the groups state that they are open to join. And I was able to join #24.
BTW - Great job on the Forum. Keep up the good work.

Unfortunately, that's not an editable field. It bases that on whether or not you need X number of posts in order to become a member, etc. I'll probably remove that text from the template, just so it's not confusing, but I need to figure out how to lock them down to only allow approved people to join them first

Okay, can you unjoin the elected official group and then try to join again?

can you unjoin the elected official group and then try to join again? I think I may have nailed the moderation thing.

LOL I don't actually known if you get an email - that's why I was asking :) Did it deny you access to the group tho?
Lady Sarah

There is no specific "You were denied", it simply returned to the same option as before the request to join. Is that what it's supposed to do?

Interesting... I don't actually know what its supposed to do. But I can live with it doing that :)
