Hey all....:hi:
I have finally gotten off my lazy duff to introduce myself. I have been around the site for about a month now, lurking :lurking: and have posted a few times but have not made it formal....
First, let me introduce Lady Anisette. That is the cute pup in my avatar. I am actually Mistress JoAnne. Also known as Jody. The reason that I chose her name is because it is due to her that I followed through on my interest in ren faires.
To make a long story short, Ani and I went everywhere together. She had been with me all her life, having been born at the end of my bed. I even nursed her because she couldn't suckle....
For my 39th we went to Vermont and I had hoped that some day I could travel to Europe and, of course, I would take her. That trip was our last together. As it would happen, this year for my 40th, I came into some money and could have gone to Europe. But it would have been by myself and I couldn't face that. I decided to do something that I had always wanted to explore. I did some research and ended up spending a whole weekend at PARF. I took my money and bought garb for me, my two best friends and my goddaughter and took them with me. We had the best time!!! :-D
Both my friends said that they felt it was where I belonged. And that it was an environment that they thought would make me happy. They are right. I have decided to take my jewelry (I make pearl and gemstone jewelry) and to try to become a vendor at one or two faires and the try to make this part of my life.
When I got home I read about the IWG in a Katie MacAllister book and searched you all out. I really love what a friendly and funny and enjoyable community you all have made here and hope to become a part of it.
This is long, I know, I am kind of chatty. I can't wait until I get to know all of you.... ::bouncybunny::
BTW.... I am waiting for my membership. Soon I will be official. ::yay::
PS... I have yet to be rogued, fiended or boned. I am definitely looking forward to all of these things!
