I got pulled over this morning because I was breaking NO laws but one of Washington State's finest thought my Kansas license plate was funny...it says WENCH. It's been here for less than 30 days (so still legal) yet I got a 330 dollar fine because *I* have been here longer thus it should be registered..

what did this giant of intellect tell me? "oh you don't have to own it to register it" see *I* don't own the car. My father does. Why does he own it? It was a gift to me that he does not want me responsible to pay for. He pays tags, taxes and strangely, insurance (I fight him, he sends my money back to me..hey..). So I ask...I must get power of attorney! says the DOL.. I admit to laugh directly at the woman. I asked her to please let me be on the phone when she called my dad and told him he had to give his 25 year old daughter power of attorney. SOMEONE needed to witness the carnage.

SO I call the washington state patrol to ask why, without probable cause, i was stopped.
"We don't need it"
"I'm sorry? What's the RCW that allows for that?"
"there is none, we just interpret the law that way..see we run our work off 7 of the 30 dollars for every registered car.."
"So how about I just SEND you a 7 dollar check in the mail hmm?"
"That's rather flippant ms baker"
"yes well it makes as much sense as telling me you pulled me over while breaking NO LAWS because my license plate gave you a giggle.."

you know, it pains me to say this but coming from Kansas to here...this is THE most damn backwards state in the nation...

Microsoft group legal has already agreed to have strong conversations on my behalf..

They're lucky me being late to work because of how long he kept me there didn't get me fired.

Being an MP, I have pulled over numerous drivers for various infractions, so I assure you that they have to have probable cause to stop you. And the officer that stops you must tell you why he stopped you. Just for having an out of state registration is not cause enough. I would absolutly go to court on this one.
You can also have your name put on the registration as a co-owner. I don't think you need POA for that. Just have your father go to the local MVA and have him put your name on as a co-owner?!
