I am re-posting this for a friend of mine:
Festival of the Lion in Grafton MA, will not be opening its gates for this year.
I am very saddened to report that vandals have assaulted the site and in the seven or so weeks we have available, we will not have the site ready for the public. There for, for the safety of staff, merchants, performers and the public, Festival of the Lion 06 will be canceled. Plans are already underway for Festival of the Lion return for 07!
On July 9, 2006, committee members have been reviewing plans as to best rebuild and revamp the site for the 2007 season. With added time we will address some of the concerns that have been buzzing around. Including enlarging the space for more entertainment.
At the end of this faire season, we will be requesting volunteers for rebuilding the site. Any and all wishing to participate please contact Jan Neurdenburg at the Festival of the Lion web page. www.festivalofthelion.com (http://www.festivalofthelion.com)
Merchants who have already sent in deposits will be receiving refunds. Merchant packages will be in the mail for 07 in the fall. It is business as usual.
Once again, Festival of the Lion will not be open for 06, but plans to return in Grand Fashion in 07.
