WOOHOO! You made it here girl! Bout fricking time too! LOL!! Anyway...I might try to go Labor Day weekend, if I can find some transportation to get there. My Rogue is going to have my car in Illinois that weekend with a work thing. :sigh: Oh well. See you at Stroud Saturday after next!

I'll be there...but then again, I'll be there every weekend..but that is beside the point.

Short, red-headed wench. Black Pendragon, burgundy skirt... At Slay the Dragon... That's me

Have fun, maybe we'll see you there.

DaBaroness should be there too...dunno where exactly..but there... 8)

Yup, yup, yup - I'll be there - all 16 days - rain, shine, sleet, hail, and kid's day!!!

I manage area 2 of the faire - which is basically from mermaid commons, down the lane past the mermaid stage to three lions grove, the three lions stage, the royal glade and the Olde North Bramble from the grove to the enchanted forest.

The only time I'm out of area is during parade/lunch from about 12:15 - 1:20 p.m. I can be found every hour on the half (except 12:30 p.m.) checking in performers from the bench at the bottom of the bridge right next to H. Dopita studios and across from Sky Chairs. I'm a gypsy with red hair - so you can't miss me easily.

If you still can't locate me - ask any costumed performer in area 2 where the Baroness might be found and they can probably help you.

Hope to see you there!

Not sure when we're going... but I will make it down there at least one weekend. Never got to go last year /pout. I haven't been to the site yet, so if you see a burgundy haired wench roaming around, introduce thyself! See you there :)

Captain Stamina and myself will be there for Labor Day weekend. This will be our first visit to KCRF and are looking forward to the trip. Is there a particular place and time to gather so we can meet?

Anyone coming into KC for the faire and wanting something else to do (as in if you're here for the weekend)--let me know, maybe we can introduce y'all to KC BBQ, or come up with something else :)

Again, please come by and say hi!

My Darling Rogue and I will be there Saturday and Sunday of Labor Day. Traveling from Larkspurshire - aka Colorado.

I'll be bringing several friends who just can't wait! And we are trying our best to get our Drill Sargent for the Colorado Local 35 to come with us as well.... After all, we should probably make the BBQ'd Wenches a bi-annual thing..... Ask Magdelene how she got her nickname "KC MasterPiece".

I'll be sure to read this thread again right before I go, so I will know who to look for. I think my DH and I will be doing Pirate one day, and probably our Pendragons the next.

Note to self - get pirate shirts done, and Pirate vest....

WooHoo! Can't wait

BTW - anyone working KCRF. Any secret tips on making sure we get into the Tea? It was such fun last year!!!

No Bards - their agent wants more money than KC's owner is willing to pay - they weren't here last year either.

But tomorrow begins pirates weekend - so that'll be fun and there are lots of visiting groups performing as well.

Don't forget to look for me in the burguny and olive brocade bodice and the skirt of many colors with coins and beads on the hems. I'm in area 2 - find me on the half hour across from the sky chairs booth checking in my villagers.

Hope to see you there!

The Captain and myself had a fabulous time at KCRF over the Labor Day Weekend. We invited my parents to join us on Monday and they are HOOKED. They're talking about doing it again, only this time in GARB. I am such a bad influence

I was upset at not being able to enjoy all three days at faire but then you can't control the weather. Who would have thought the faire would be closed on account of heavy rains (blame it on me for making the trip.) The first time this has happened in 27 years.

I did get to meet up with lots of fellow wenches and a few handsome rogues too. The Scalliwags invited me to participate in one of their shows (there's just something about pirates.) Got my step mom to go on the scavenger hunt with me. What a great way to meet some of the cast at faire, too bad they don't do it every week-end.

Obviously we didn't let the rain dampen our fun. We are looking forward to visiting this faire again one day, just not this year. Thank you everyone for making our first KCRF such a memorable occasion.

So, who is going this year? It's Pirate Themes for all the weekends this year, so we need to have some Wenches in there to stir up the mix!

We plan to attend the last weekend. Anyone else?

I'll be there, as usual, for all 16 days. But this year I'm one-third of the stage show MentalPause, hot (flash) wenches. We'll be appearing five times daily on the Seafarer's Beergarden Stage (Pub stage) in the wharf area near the pirate ship where the Jolly Rogers perform.

Rumor also has it (as well as our contract) that we'll be doing a bit at the daily feast and hosting and barwenching the Royal Cigar Smoker in the new feasting hall and doing a song now and again at the pub sing at the end of the day on the Three Lions Stage.

We're working on making a green room for ourselves behind our stage and if we're successful, we'll be happy to welcome wenches from near and far!

I hear there's a contingent from Dallas heading north - maybe opening weekend. I certainly hope so!!!!

See ya there!

There are several of us coming up from OkRF (Muskogee) opening weekend as guest perfomers. So hopefully I'll finally get to meet some more of my fellow wenches then! I'm really excited as this will be my first time to KCRF. My garb is already packed!

I'll be at KCRF every day once again.......at Uncommon Adornments, which happens to be NEXT to a pub, and almost across from the Jolly Rogers, and right down the way from Wendy and Mental Pause---so does that mean there is NO EXCUSE not to stop by and say hi?????Damn right! (Besides, I've yet to meet the wench that can just pass by the pretty sparklies) And the view of the Jolly Rogers is pretty good from where I stand too!

A contingency of friends that includes one Wench and one Rogue (myself and my DH) will be heading East from Colorado for opening weekend. We tried last year, but got so rained out. My friends are determined to see why I rant about what a great faire you have!

Please, oh gods of rain... can you wait until we go back to Colorado? Please? Pretty Please with sugar on top? Or Splenda if you are going Lo Carb?

Well, we finally made it home after all the evils that befell us after a wonderful day at Faire!!!

We had to leave a bit early unfortunately, but had a wonderful time meeting everyone!! We caught one full show of MentalPause which was very humorous, and did get to stop and chat briefly with Myrmaid. We met several Rogues and Wenches, which we will not name at this time for fear of forgetting someone!! We handed out Pirate's Gold and Wenchly Kisses to everyone we met!

However, on the way home, about a half hour outside of KC, nearly to Holt on I35, our radiator blew. We had to get a tow back to KC to the Ford Service dealership, where we arrived just before they closed. They were unable to get the part until today, so we ended up spending the night in the van, where it was either cook or be eaten alive by the horse-squitos. And yes, I do mean that!! They were HUGE!!!
So, they finally got the new radiator in and we were finally on the road at noon, thinking all was well and fixed after a $500 charge, but keeping a close eye on the temp gauge just in case. Which was just as well, as we were nearly to the Iowa border when it started heating up again! We put a full gallon of antifreeze in the New Radiator, got some gas and were off again. Got about 15 miles outside of Centerville, IA on Hwy 2, and had to do it again!! Then, just outside of Ottumwa, it started heating up again, but we were able to coast home without stopping a third time. Needless to say, it's obviously not fixed yet, and we will need to take it in on Tuesday when the shop is open here. We either have a slow leak, or the pump is shot... either way a BIG headache to come! :x
Unfortunately this means that we will be unable to attend final weekend as all the funds we had saved just went into the Beast, with more to follow.
So, have a drink for us Final Weekend in remembrance!!

Have a great season and hop eto see some of you at TRF>

We made it back unscathed, although fairly exhausted!

A FEW of my pics came out - I'm hoping that other generous souls will share their pics as well (hint hint!)

I'm already looking forward to next Labor Day! *g*
Luckily, I've got a few other faires between here and there to tide me over

It was wonderful meeting everyone - we had a wonderful time!

I just wanted to post a quick thank you to all the KC wenches for being so helpful and accommodating during our stay in their faire city. With a special thanks to Myrmaid for her generosity in providing water and pickles to visitors in need. (She also chose a great BBQ place for us to gather at on Sunday.)

If you get the chance to see MentalPause in action don't pass up the opportunity. I was able to catch many of their shows (including the Smoker in the Feast Hall :rotfl: ) They just keep getting better with each show.

Needless to say...but I will anyway... it was a fabulous weekend and I enjoyed meeting all of you during my stay.

'Til we meet again,
Isa

Awesome pics Rhia. I hope others will share. Our camera did not make it back from London where a friend left it on a bus. (Bitterness will dissappear when a new camera appears. :D )

And you are right ISa - I forgot to mention the pickles. They tasted great and I hate pickles - but then the chocolate frozen bananas tasted very good as well. Have to love strange food combonations.

See everyone soon I hope.

Well, we had a Grand Time yesterday at the Faire!! We met up with several people including Mental Pause, Lord and Lady Diodato (sp?) from Renaissance Faire Chaser's as well as Alan and Amanda at the Sheepskin Shoppe (sorry I didn't catch your Ren Names in the memory box! ) and a few others that we saw but don't remember their names at the moment! Unfortunately, in chatting with friends that we met up with at the Faire, we were unable to make it back to see Mental Pause in action again. We are most apologetic, Ladies!!! We do hope you enjoyed your sweets!!
We were unable to stay until closing gate, but had a wonderful time wandering the Faire with good Friends! Hope to get to attend the After Hours Feast next year!!
Grand Huzzahs to Everyone!!
