I am pleased to announce that Turkey Legs and Scotch Eggs: A Renaissance Fare Cookbook is almost ready for sale. If you are in the New England area and would like to help us with the final collating and binding, some of us are getting together in Randolph, MA on Friday, January 31 for food, movies, chocolate and some work. Bring yourself and any willing helpers. Email me for directions.

We spent this winter compiling a book of favorite recipes as a way to raise money to donate to charity in the name of Barbara "Baj" Burinski (Queen Katherine at KRF and Queen Elizabeth at AZRF and Sterling) who passed from cancer last July.

It has been a lot of hard work, but we will have books available for sale at Birka (February 1, at the Center of New Hampshire, Manchester NH [www.sca.org]) and then at various faires throughout New England this summer. Books can also be ordered via email and paid for with Paypal or by check. Contact us at [email protected] for payment information.

We divided the book into modern and period recipes so you can find recipes for everything from couscous salad and tiramisu to gos farced and perys in compost. Recipes are suited to all ranges of cooks.

The cookbook makes a perfect gift for wenches, rogues, privateers, mercs, himbos, rennies, danes, newlyweds, college students, moms, dads, friends, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, grandparents, neighbors, your postal carrier, your boss, people in the SCA, the guy who pumps your gas, you get the point. Buy early, buy often!

I would be most remiss if I did not give very special thanks to Lady Alana Wick'd for the amazing amount of work she put into this effort. From the seed of an idea to its fruition, she has guided this project. Without her, it never would have been done as quickly or as well as it has come about. Thanks, Stacey! <hugs and chocolate>

Much love,
