Where did you all go? I'm gone for a few weeks and you're all gone? Anyways, I'm back, armed with a premium account and I want help and company to buy some land. I don't know what for yet, but I'm sure something will come of it. Anyways, I'm Cricket Heron now and probably forever more.

I need to get my inventory back to the way it was. I need to shop for the pretty flowy things I used to have... And my cool rockin' pirate garb!

I'll be on when I get home from work, around 7:30, so sign on! And PM me since I only have a few of your names remembered from a previous thread...

I did the Warcraft thing... I don't think it was for me. I didn't take to it immediately so in my eyes, it sucks. I know it doesn't but I think I need to be more in the mood to lose several hours in front of my computer to familiarize myself with all the stuff. Because there's a butt load of it.

It's sorta sad, but at this point, my free trial is up and I can't even remember what I signed up as, other than I was an elf of some sort. I'll probably do it over the summer (if summer ever freakin' gets here) when my cousin comes to visit and he can walk me through it.

OMG! Goodies would be awesome! I went shopping last night with Erinrai (Xia) and had a blast. Yso signed on shortly before I had to sign off, but it was still fun!

I managed to pick up some great freebies at the GNUbie store and am still futzing with my shape to get my head right so most of the hair and stuff fits. I've already spent hours on my avatar, but I need some more "tweaking". I know you'll be honest wtih me and tell me if I look decent enough.

It's good and it's bad all at the same time, I get to do all my shopping all over again. There's things that I'll buy again, including that 1000L$ pirate outfit and my tribal boots, the soles on that worked with just about every shoe. But, I have to spend all that L$ over again... boo...

I have yet to spend a dime of real life money for anything in second life. And I never could do the WoW thing, but I can play GuildWars. What's up with that?

The total I spent in SL has been about 5 bucks. And that's because I wanted this kinky sex position bed thingy that I only used once for a laugh with a dude who was dressed like batman. I won't be doing that again. All the other money, I earned in world.

And now that I signed up for a premium account, I get a weekly allowance. Woo! I need it too because Cricket needs her instant gratification. lol

So what kind of things can you buy in WoW besides weapon related stuff? In SL, you can buy all sorts of pretty dresses and fun outfits. It's almost like virtual Barbie. lol

Here are some screenshots from a bridal shower that my guild had. We are all wearing our festive formalwear. I'm Morrigaine in the long purple gown (back to camera). Everyone got drunk and had a good time. Until the groom caught the bride with someone else!

Yeah, Vilmah's getting married this Saturday! All of the bridesmaids will wear the festive purple dress, and Vilmah got these BITCHIN' robes that look like a white wedding dress accented with purple! Gleee! All of the men in the guild will wear a black tuxedo with a rich purple shirt to match the purple Sanctuary theme. I'm so stoked!

Nina and I both play in a roleplaying realm. We have all kinds of things like that going on.

If you decide to give WoW a try again, let either of us know and we'll help you out.

Yeah! I'm a tailor, so I make my own pretty dresses! There's also quests you can do for the holidays that get you special ones, like for Valentines Day there's a quest that gets you the "Lovely purple/red/black dress", which is kinda like a slinky ball gown.

The dress my character is wearing is from the Chinese New Year quests. There was a big party and lots of fireworks. The party was fun except for all the Night Elves dancing naked.

We also got lots of candy for Valentine's Day. Winterveil (Christmas, Hannukka, Yule) was also lots of fun and quite drunken. There is also a big faire every year.

I'm a tailor, also, and make quite a bit of money from it, as well as pretty dresses to wear and give as gifts.

I haven't been on in awhile because I'm hardly ever home. Usually up at Chris's store hanging out with him.

I might try to sign on at some point this weekend.

I should make up a box for any wench that wants the few items I have made or purchased dresses? Would you ladies be interested in that?

The difference between SL and WoW is purpose. In WoW you can role play, you can just explore/craft/hang out in town, but the main purpose is to level. Leveling requires questing and/or fighting things. In Second Life you bring the purpose, you can RP with anything from robotic bunnies to vampires, you can ride merry-go-rounds or gamble in casinos, you can build anything you can imagine and shop for anything. SL is only as expensive as you let it be and can be absolutely free, unlike the $15 monthly WoW fee.

In terms of what i have spent in SL: I have had a premium account for 2 months so thats $9.99x2=19.98. Purchased currency twice at $15 each to equal $30 and put $15 in SLexchange. Which totals $64.98. This does not equal what I paid for The Burning Crusade, not even considering the monthly fee for 2 years or original game purchase of $70. If I was independently wealthy I would be owning an island or four which would cost $5,000 up front and $1,000 a month! But there are people who have invested cash in and made it back and more with the economy in SL!

Most people are in SL to have fun, make friends and simply have a good time. There is no schedule to keep, no ghost runs and no canceled raid due to your healer logging off. Personally, I do like both and I can see the perks of both. Its all in getting out what you want from them. Right now, I am enjoying making clothing, dancing in nightclubs and making friends. Raiding Kharazan just doesn't interest me. I may log in to kill 25 Ogre Warriors but its very casual and only when I feel like pwning. Both are different and have their own merits.

No self-respecting WoW player pays $15 a month.

Cali, you're so awesome... When it comes to be the right time to buy our little parcels of land, we should get them right next to each other, that way, it's bigger. I've been thinking of some good ideas to do with it too, I just have no idea how big 512 is... in land, that is. But I've got some ideas to run by you if you're on later.

Anyone else here on a SL premium account for that matter.

I'll be on later, probably after my WW meeting, during The Office and Gray's Anatomy commercials. lol

These ideas have been floating around in my head all day, and I need to run them by someone so I can figure out if it's realistic or not.
