Local 34 members and visitors to Bristol:
Our hostel again will be behind Royal Exchange Jewelry. A.J. Callum is again our Dame, and working in the shop will be Meriweather, our Drill Sgt.
If you don't know where the hostel is, when you come in the front gate, go to your right and up the hill past the big Public House pub, but don't go past the apple trees or up to the stage by the fountain. Instead make a 90 degree turn to your left and head down the shady street with shops on both sides. Royal Exchange Jewelry is (I think) the 5th shop on the right-hand side (north side of the street). Our Guild logo is hung on the door (usually on the right side of the shop). You may ask anyone working in the shop how to get to the Hostel.
The Hostel will have:
A daily sign-in sheet - please sign in so we know who is about and if you plan to Walk or participate in that day's activity.
Ice & water - please stay hydrated
Foot bath - I'm looking for a couple of terracotta bowls that are big enough for soaking hot & tired feet
Shelving unit - for small packages, bags, and baskets (IWG, the Local, and the Faire are not responsible for lost items)
Info sheets - including helpful words & phrases to use around Faire
White board - to list activities and visitorsAlso, we have the opportunity to go in on the cost of a private privy near the Hostel. This was a wonderful thing last year as the public privies are usually very unpleasant to use while wearing skirts. This will cost ~$85 if there is a 3-way cost sharing. We need to either have donations towards the privy (please give to Paradox) or we will be instituting a pay-per-use plan. This may sound strange, but last year we only had 4-5 donations towards the privy and there were more people using it than that.
