This was just sent to me:

Copied from the R/F board, posted by Flidais:

Here is what the wonderful Mistress Katheryne (BookWench) sent out to the Wenches Guild

If you haven't heard the news yet, I hate to have to break the news.

Last night, Caroline, our QE1, lost her husband Ken Donovan.

No details are available as to the circumstances of his passing, but
obviously, Caroline is returning home to Florida to make arrangements.

Donna Buckley will be standing in for her this weekend. Lets all
pretend for the guests that NOTHING IS AMISS. K?

In the meantime, please join me in sending all the wenchly love you
can to Caroline during this shock and very difficult loss.

Ken was a wonderful guy, and the two were a very happy and secure
couple. This is a HUGE loss to a whole lot of people even beyond
family and friends.

Again, lets send Caroline our love and good wishes while she deals
with this.

Sisters of HollyGrove, I grieve with you. My heart goes out to Caroline, her family and those who knew him well. I am saddened by her loss.

She called the ED's cellphone during cast meeting Saturday morning, and we all wished her well. I know she is being well cared-for and supported by the BaRF folks and the FL wenches, and she knows she can count on all of us when she returns to MiRF, which she hopes to do in 2 weeks.

However, her close friends have requested that we get the word out about one important thing - when she does return to MiRF as QE, it is NOT appropriate to express condolences to her on "Queen Time" (from 9:30-7:30). Let her do her job. Queen Elizabeth had no husband, and however well-meant the sentiment, reminding her of her sorrow would only make her job that much harder.

Caroline has requested donations to charity in lieu of flowers, and as soon as we know what address would be best to send cards and wishes to, I'm sure someone will post it.

"God Save The Queen"!

I am from the Local 21 that Caroline is a member of in FL. as well as a friend of hers as well as Ken's (although the latter not near as well as I wish.)
I have contact information as well as the information for the charities.
If your Dame wishes, please drop me a line via PM.
I'd rather not pass her home address on the 'net.
We are all coping, are thoughts are with our shared Queen as well as those of you in Hollygrove.

Thank you very much for the offer Margarethe - we have that information posted already but we truly appreciate the offer.

It's Irish Weekend at MIRF this weekend - Caroline says it's fitting that she return to her Northern home then.

The Local 57 Wenches will make sure that our Glorious Queen shines brightly these last two weekends of faire and that our friend and Sister Wench Caroline has her friends here to love and support her in any way she needs.

Thank you for that. I look forward to making a journey up there to meet everyone myself next year.

Hey Mags, please send along well wishes to the Queen from the Pittsburgh contingent. We couldn't make the trip this year, but our thoughts are with her during her mourning.
