Nobody Knows it But Me

There's a place that I travel,
When I want to roam
And nobody knows if but me.

The roads don't go there,
And the signs stay home
And nobody knows it but me.

It's far, far away and way, way afar,
It's over the moon and the sea,
And wherever you are going,
That's wherever you are
And nobody knows it but me.

I just love this poem. So what if it's ad copy for GM.
What the words mean to me is special and I thought you gorgeous darlings might like it.

Thank you Jillian...when I heard this commercial my ears perked up...first because James Garner is the one reading the poem and I just LOVE him and second because the words were familiar to me. I thought maybe it was the lyrics to an old song I knew.

Now I know what they're from and who authored it and I have to agree...it is a GREAT poem.

It's amazing what inspiration can sometimes be found in advertising. My favorite, which is framed in my living room, was found on a postcard in a Land's End catalogue:

"Every dreamer knows that it is entirely possible to be homesick for a place you've never been to, perhaps more homesick than for familiar ground."
Judith Thurman "The Hand of Distance"
