I just got back from the valley. I spent my morning renewing my restraining order. Originally, I had planned to do it Tuesday, but I spent that day at the doctor's with a migraine. (I found out that day that due to my allergies, I can't take most of the medications for migraines. :ow: Lucky me)

I still have the migraine, but I needed to have it the order renewed by Friday. So off I went to the valley with my headache hat on.

Even though light makes me violently ill at the moment. the judge said I had to take my hat off. His clerk really did try to convince him to let me keep wearing it. (I really appreciate that sir.) Sigh, so I sat in the court room with my hand over my eyes trying not to be ill.

The judge was awful! He was rude to almost everyone. There is no need to lecture people when they come in for a restraining order, renewals or a stalking order. (I know who I don't want to get next year.)

I did get the renewal with a minimal lecture. (Though I think the "I am going to hurl any microsecond" look may have had something to do with it.) I was lectured less than the people who were before me.

Now I just have to get the copies and service packets where they need to go. Then I am done until next year. ::yay::

No judge should be rude or condesending to anyone. Judges can be reported and sanctioned for that. Report him. Just because he sits on a bench up high and wears a robe doesn't make him God, he's just as human as the rest of us and should treat everyone with respect,.

You need to report him. That is just so wrong. You are the victim. There is no call for him to give you a lecture.

Way, way back in my former life I also had to get a restraining order. I also had to deal with a not-so-nice judge. I really hope you don't get him again. *hugs*

I agree very strongly with those who recommended reporting this judge! Being in a place of honor means you comport yourself with honor...being in a position of power means you use power FOR people, not ON people...being an authority figure does not make you somehow entitled to look down your nose at those who are not in authority. Sounds to me like someone who has started believing his own P.R. a bit too much...take him down a peg, the other people who get scolded/lectured to will bless you for it!
*grumbles about morons who punish the victims*

Yeah, cause it's SO your fault you need a restraining order to keep yourself safe from some asswipe .

I'm sorry he put you through that. ::bighug::
