The weekend of November 7-9 will be a very special one for Alcott Arts Center.
We really need ticket sales, come see your friends!
The proceeds from all these activities will go to Alcott Arts Center, a nonprofit community center for the arts. 180 South 18th Street, Kansas City, Ks 66102 (913) 233-ARTS

Friday, November 7th, from 6-10PM, will be the Feaste Royale, a fundraising event for Alcott. The event will include a Renaissance costume exhibition, the Feaste itself, and a stage variety show after dinner.
The costume exhibition, which opens for the Feaste and will remain at Alcott for two weeks, will include a variety of 16th century costumes created for Renaissance Faires.
The Feaste will be a full dinner, served by wenches and groomsmen, and accompanied by musicians and other entertainers. The Magic of Terry Elton, Lady Nancy and her hammer dulcimer, Lord Kerridwynn and his lute, and Sparrow the Mime (aka Beth Byrd the mime) are some of the Renfaire performers who have already committed to performing.
The after-Feaste variety stage show, to be held in Alcott's theater (which is being fancied up in preparation for the event) will include turns by musicians, specialty acts, and the improvisational comedy troupe Commedia Sans Arte, www.commediasansarte.com
Tickets are from $35 to $75. The reason for the variety is that guests will be made noblemen and women for the evening; their titles (and therefore importance) will be based on how much they spend (kind of like real life). The $75 price is for Royalty, and there is a limit of four of those spots available. Can't afford the whole dinner ticket price? Come see the show at 8 for only 10$! for tickets call Alcott 913-233-2787
Then on Saturday, November 8, from 1-2:30PM, the younger nobility is invited to Tea With the Queen. Her Majesty Queen Margaret of Scotland, also sister of Henry VIII, will be attending. Young ladies and gentlemen of quality will have an opportunity to play games and be instructed in Court behavior, see Queen's Gambit! possibly including some training in swordsmanship. Tickets for the Queen's Tea are $10, and include admission to the Pirate Melodrama immediately after Tea. Call Alcott to get a break for multiple children! 913-233-2787 !
What Melodrama is that, you may ask? The play Pirates and Polly's Grog will be performed in Alcott's Theater Saturday after the Queen's Tea at 2:30, and again Sunday afternoon at 2:30. A campy melodrama with LOTS of audience participation, tickets for this event are $5 each.
Cast includes:
Mrs. Pifflewhiffle - Faye Greenwood
Penelope - Marissa Pelot
Cap'n Jack - Chris Johnson
Lord Hugh - Adrian Gilby
Duncan - Michael Crowley
Faldurawl - Dean Kinsey
Nate the Mate - Daniel Jackson
Mechante - Christine Wade
The proceeds from all these activities will go to Alcott Arts Center, a nonprofit community center for the arts. An immediate goal for Alcott right now is to replace its old boiler (which no longer works) so the center can stay open through the winter. So your money will be going for an excellent cause, not to mention how much fun you will have.
We have a lot of great volunteers lined up but if you would still like to help in that way call me at 913-788-3104!
Yours ever,
Christine Wade
