Not many of you know, but I was laid off a long-time job at the beginning of October. It was a bit ugly and more than a little scary as I'm the sole support of myself, my two sons, two dogs and a cat. I started working a temp to hire job in mid-November while continuing to send out resumes and interview for jobs - a number of which seemed to disintegrate before my eyes.
My temp job has finally gone permanent and I couldn't be happier. I'm now officially the executive assistant to the president and CEO of a really cool, growing ad agency here in Kansas City. Considering I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in journalism/advertising 24 years ago, it's pretty funny I'm finally at an ad agency. :singdanc:
I have to toot my own horn a bit as I managed to keep my head up and stay positive - trusting there was something much better than I had before out there for me and having faith the universe and the Creator was moving me toward my greater good. I keep learning if I just get out of the way and quit trying to control things, everything happens as it should.
Thanks to all of you for your grace, your intelligence, your humor and your sisterly commraderie - whether you knew/know it or not, you get me through each day.
