Here is where all nominees should post their platforms.
This will allow us to use the "elections!" thread on Local 13 for any questions.
Please just post Platforms on this thread and on the local 13 thread titled Election Nominee Platforms".

I would like to offer my services to the Guild as Local Madame of IWG Local 13.
I believe that the Local Madame’s position is one of facilitation and leadership, not ownership. I know that I have the skills to organize our local wenches into a cohesive group of unified women by using the strengths of each individual to enhance the Guild as a whole. A strong and vibrant guild would serve to enhance our enjoyment of Faire and just perhaps life in general. As this statement intimates, I envision the guild to be more than a group of women that meet up to play at faire. While there is little doubt that we will always be strong advocates of the right to play, I believe that the IWG can be much more. Our guild could provide a common platform for women of strength and character to unite in their voices on issues that are of concern to all. We can also build bonds of friendships that will last a lifetime and perhaps beyond. After meeting many of the women across the Local 13 area, I believe that the building blocks of such an organization already exist. The only thing needed to realize these visions is organization, communication, and direction. If each of us is encouraged to use our respective strengths together to accomplish a purpose, we cannot fail.
If elected as Local Madame of IWG Local 13;
1. I will work to allow Local 13 to become a cohesive group of women of character who are able to achieve virtually any collective goal through the effective utilization of our respective individual strengths.
2. I will encourage the unified support of community charity organizations such as the Susan G. Comen Foundation, Special Olympics, women’s shelters and other organizations that are addressing concerns shared by women of all walks of life, including wenches.
3. I will promote more frequent interaction with each other and with our local groups such as the Mercs and the Rogues through:
a. Monthly gatherings at our homes, local restaurants and pubs
b. Holiday gatherings
c. Support in days of difficulty
4. I will work to establish regional bands of wenches that will allow wenches that are not in the DFW area to enjoy the same benefits that we in the DFW area have only recently begun to enjoy. Because Local 13 covers such a vast geographic area, I believe that each region should have it’s own organized sub-group that will voice the concerns of each region for to the Local as a whole. Areas, such as Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Oklahoma and Louisiana should be able to develop a small group of wenches that would work through the Local Madame with respect to issues relating to Local 13 or the Guild as a whole.
5. I will institute quarterly meetings to discuss issues and ideas for the forthcoming quarter and year in an attempt to include the voices of each of the smaller regional groups. These meetings would facilitate:
a. Problem resolution
b. Planning for fun activities (i.e. A Wench and Rogue Chili Cook Off, Games for faire, and other fun excuses for gathering)
c. Attendance to Guild business (i.e. selection of Privy Council representatives, etc…)
I know that we can make these things happen because I believe in the guild and in the strength of our members. As Local Madame, I would facilitate this with open communication, organization and by delegating responsibilities to those who are best able and willing to handle them. I also know that I have the ability, background and the skills to guide the local through the changes that will be necessary to allow the realization of these goals and objectives.
Thank you

I would like to stand for the office of Vice Madame..
I believe the Vice Madame should not only have excellent organizational skills but also communication skills. She should be able to relay information to her local in a timely and concise manner.
If elected I would:
1. Work in tandem with the Local Madame to make sure the Wenches in our local are made aware of any national or local guild information.
2. I would do my best to relay to the LM any wants or needs or ideas from the local Wenches in a timely manner and respond with the result as quickly as possible.
3. I want to make all our Wenches welcome to our local no matter what corner of our chapter they are in.
4. I would like to establish a database of our Wenches and their skills so that if one of us is aware of job opportunities we could relay that information to that Wench.
5. I would like regularly schedule meetings/quarterly for Wenches to gather as whole, in addition to our social gatherings, so that the ladies have a regular voice and where they would like our chapter to go.
6. I would like to assist in promoting our local not only among other ren groups but in mundane society as well through charity works and the media, if so approved by Lars (bless his beatin' heart)
7. I would like us to work with the local Rogues in participating in charity works with them as well. They very kindly walked with the Wenches in the Race for the Cure. Also work with the other area guilds in social and charitable activities.
8. I would also enjoy seeing the IWG as an official presence at area Faires. Only by working with the Faires and in their guidelines can we accomplish this.
9. But most of all I want to make this Chapter a positive experience for not only the newest members but for the established members as well. Together we can accomplish more than we do separate.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
