Ok, not really, but sort of. I was inspired to write this little ditty to the tune of The Gambler. Remind me to sing it in person sometime... Also, be aware that some of the verses are still in the works, as they are, as Even, a bit rough around the edges still. Hell, i made it up in the car on a long drive. I'll stop babbling now:

On a warm summer's evening
On a train bound for Vegas
I met up with The Digger
We were both to tired to sleep
But I just kept a-starin'
At her fingers, at the diamonds
‘Til boredom overtook us
and she began to speak

She said "Girl I've made my life
Out of reading men's expressions
And knowing what I can get
by where they held their eyes
So if you don't mind my sayin'
I can see you out of lovin'
for a taste of your champagne
I'll give you some advice"

So I handed her my bottle
And she drank down my last swallow
Then she bummed a capri
and asked me for a light
And the night got deathly quiet
And she quirked a little smile
Said "If you’re gonna play the game, Girl
You gotta learn to play it right.

You've got to know when to feed em'
Know when to beat 'em
Know when to be on top
Know when to say no
You never count alimony
When you're sittin' with the lawyers
There’ll be time enough for counting
when divorce is done

Now every digger knows
That the secret to survival
is knowing who to throw away
and knowing who to keep
Cause every man's a winner
And every man's a loser
And the best that you can hope for
is he'll die in his sleep"

And when she'd finished speaking
She turned back toward the window
Crushed out her cigarette
And faded off to sleep
And somewhere in the darkness
The Digger, she found True Love
But in her final words I found
A diamond I could keep.

You've got to know when to feed em'
Know when to beat 'em
Know when to be on top
Know when to say no
You never count alimony
When you're sittin' with the lawyers
There’ll be time enough for counting
when divorce is done

(BREAK)
You've got to know when to feed em' (when to feed ‘em)
Know when to beat 'em (when to beat 'em)
Know when to be on top
Know when to say no
You never count your money
When you're sittin' in the bedroom
There'll be time enough for counting
When he’s dead and gone.

You've got to know when to feed em'
Know when to beat 'em
Know when to be on top
Know when to say no
You never count alimony
When you're sittin' with the lawyers
There’ll be time enough for counting
when divorce is done

(Jaw on floor)

When you come back to PARF this year (you are, right?), I shall throw roses at your feet. That's some good work there, woman.
