Okay I am just putting feelers out so no one panic....My Rogue and I are fans of cooking shows (obvious once you meet me  ) and we had been knocking around the idea of a renaissance/medieval dinner...taking old recipes and updating them slightly...everyone brings a dish...a sort of medival potluck...this can be done in any city we are located in...all the Wenches and Rogues and other guild members gather in their closest major port ie Austin, Houston, New Orleans...and then share pics and menus etc of what each group did. Maybe even make it a true Medieval/Renaissance Yule...early I know but I like to have guideposts during the year...Who would be interested in this?

Forgive the shameless plug, but if you are looking for period recipe resources, you might consider getting a copy of Turkey Legs and Scotch Eggs: A Renaissance Fare Cookbook.

The wenches of IWG Local 24 worked very hard to put together this book. We received contributions from wenches all over the country who wanted to donate their recipes for a good cause. The finished cookbook contains over 300 recipes, divided into period and modern sections. In addition we included a timeline and food history, tips and tricks for improving your time in the kitchen and a chapter of songs for a good pub sing!

We are offering these books for $15.00 each. All proceeds will be donated to charity in the name of Barbara "Baj" Burinski. For all purchases, shipping for the first book is $3.50. For additional books, the shipping charge is $2.00 per book.

Email [email protected] for more information.
