Yes, that's right. The DC Avon Walk for Breast Cancer (May 1&2) is just six short weeks away. Those who are walking (like me!) are upping their mileage. Those who are low on funds in their accounts are pulling out all of the stops. And those who are looking for folks to come out and cheer are wondering if they'll have to cheer themselves.
What's that? Cheering?
That's right, in a couple of weeks, Avon will be announcing the route for the walkers as we travel 13.1 miles from <unannounced start point in DC) to <unannounced mid-point in the DC area> and then 13.1 more miles on to <just announced> Catholic University in DC where we'll stay overnight, only to...
Get up the next morning and walk another 13.1 miles back to the <unannounced start point>!
C'mon folks, get out there and cheer us on. Though I've never done *this* walk before, I can tell you that when I did the OotD walk a few years back, this was the single greatest source of energy for us... walking around the corner and seeing hundreds of smiling faces, lit candles, signs, and just plain rockin' energy!
Yes, financial donations (http://www.avonwalk.org/site/TR?pg=personal&fr_id=1045&px=1238800) are *always* welcome, but it doesn't take money to help us out... please consider coming out!
Thanks!
