OK, keep in mind that I live up in Minnesnowta, and on Monday, it was 4 a :lumpy:  :lumpy: bove here. Today, the sun is out, the snow is kinda sorta melting, I heard a Cardinal singing, and - the best of all - the Dairy Queens are open!!!!

Spring is her- tra-la-la! :bananada: :lumpy:  :cheer:

As a former Michigander and a former Minnesnowtan, I can relate to how even the smallest signs of spring are celebrated. Heck, we'd ditch our coats when it got above freezing, and the sunbathers were out when it got above 40-45. The thing I loved most about Minnesota winters was that unless it was snowing, the skies were generally bright and sunny - which actually makes even 5' of snow shimmer like diamonds.

Here in Kansas City, we don't get nearly the snow, nor do we have many truly cold days (I don't zip my coat until it's about 15 degrees which is rare here), but we have horrible gray, dreary skies way too much. I don't know if it's the latitude or the resident humidity, but all the gray certains wrecks my attitude!

I have this incredible, nearly panoramic view out my boss's window of the Missouri river flowing through the city and can see way north and west. He's even got a telescope that I can look through and see things literally miles away. But it seems all there is to see lately is this pall of humid, cold, gray air so thick it could be cut with a knife. In the summer it's often the same, except it's brutally hot rather than chilly.

I need the sun!!!!!!!!

Well reporting from the Texas division...we just got iced in for 2 days...dont see much snow here..just ice when it hits....but I spent 10 years in Indiana on a back road farm with snow up to my chest every year...so I have had both extremes

It can't come soon enough for me; it's been a terribly rough winter here. I want to get my paws into the dirt and help to make beautiful things grow... that is definitely where I find a lot of peace. :)

I was born and raised in the Tulsa, OK area, and the day I was born it snowed something like 8 inches, bear in mind that I was born the 1st day of Spring.

Right now we here are digging out of 11 inches of the :cuss: white stuff.

Well, I've got my gardens all planned out for this year, but the snow in my back yard is about up to my waist still! On the other hand, I saw something that resembled tar in my driveway today, and I can see the top of my little one's slide! Hey, it's a start, right? I'm soooo ready for spring!

I was just starting to see the tops of the silly bulbs that didn't know we were about to get 26 inches here, when we got snowed on again. They are buried again.

I'm just hoping my azeleas and boxwood are ok under it all...

Central Wisconsin checking in!!!
I am feeling a bit aprehensive...it is currently 40 degrees plus and I ran to get lunch in just a sweater...I know spring is at least a month and a half away and this mild weather is just a teaser...next week promises sub zero temps and a threat of snow! I will greet spring with a gusto and I look forward to Beltaine, I almost always find love on that day if I've prepared all the potions correctly and said all the right words to the four directions. I haven't used this particular method in years as I haven't felt ready...This may be the time!!! Viva la Springtime, the time of love!
