I'm trying to get creative with my look this year...since I seem to have lost my bodice in my divorce.
Anyway, I have a wide leather belt/girdle that I want to wear, but now I have to come up with a way to keep my boobs up. I'm not sure if a bodice will work under the belt...and my last one wasn't very good anyway. Suggestions?

Kylan--
I wear a wide (about 2" wide) black leather belt with my bodice, and it works rather nicely. :) I tend to wear a long bodice, though--so the belt sits well.
Here's a pic to the style I wear--2nd picture down from the top, the gold-on-gold ensemble:

If you sew, Simplicity 5922 is a pretty long bodice, and as far as I can tell dosen't use princess seams or darts--so it'd pass most faire muster. :)
The bodice in the pic I directed you to is our "Tudor Bodice", which I wear almost exclusively when I do the bodice/skirt combo. I have three of these suckers, and I LOVE them. :) :) :) (Yeah, cheap plug. *grin*)
I'm sure lots and lots of wenches will chime in with their favorite bodice makers, too... :)
About all I can sew are straight lines so anything as complicated as a bodice are out! When I bought my first (and only at this point), I went straight to the Rolls Royce of garb and got a plain black Pendragon. Money well spent... I also have a wider belt and my bodice has the little thingys on the bottom (can't remember what they are called right now) and it looks okay with the wider belt. Besides, I am so short waisted that my belts always look like they are holding up the girls!!!
