1. What was the best gift you gave this year?
2. What was the best gift you received this year?

1. Since I am not done giving yet, I will have to say the PS2 I gave my sweetums and Harp's angel....

2. It is a 3-way tie between my pic of Harp and Reilly, a new charm I got of a faerie, and my gun from my BF. (Nuffin says I love you like self protection, and nuffin says I trust you like a gun.)

1.) I'm not done giving yet, either, and one of the people I'm not done giving to reads this, I can't quite say. So far, it's been cosigning on my best friend's medical credit application that she was rejected on, and paying the first 3 months of of the bills for her new chiropractic regimen.

2.) I'm not done getting yet, as some of us are still sending and all, but merchandise-y-wise, it's the official Harry Potter Gryffindor scarf from Marks & Spencer in England. *whee!!* And the pile of $ that the doctors I work for gave me, that I'm going to get a new tattoo with. *hee*

Emotionally, it's been finding people that I don't know how I previously lived without. Like Tart. *hug*

1. Well, the best thing was Joe thinking that the XM radio I was getting in the mail was for my brother instead of him... And my brother knowing that it was for Joe, but playing along with it. ;)

However, the gift that took the most time/effort/thought was making an afghan for my fatherinlaw. He had a stroke over the summer, and while he's back to work four days a week, he still spends a lot of time in the room downstairs watching TV... and the room downstairs is COLD.

I started the afghan in August. *whew* I'm soooooooo glad it's done. And I'm so glad he appreciated it...

2. The best things I got? Geez, that's up to debate. Hubby got me "Battle of the Planets" on DVD... hee! But my brother got me a 10" compound miter saw, and the parents in law got me a dremel tool...

Okay, I'm not normal... ;)

*WAAAHHH* :pweeease: Oh, Gaea, I love you too!!

My best gift giving was making my Mumzilla cry, by presenting her with plain tickets to Rome, Italy in a journal, given by all of us kids.

My best gift getting? Nonmaterially, an entire day that I had nowhere to be, nothing to do, and no obligations except to play with my cats. I even took a midafternoon nap, and when I woke up, there was snow on the ground!

BEst gift given???

hmmm.

oh boy...well, I didn't do much giving this year, save to the kids, casue my whole family agreed NOT to give to each other....but I gave my sitter a complete works of Shakespeare, and everyone got bottles of White Winter Mead....and for my non-sewing faire friends here in town, I took orders for chemises and skirts....and that was my gift to them....that I'd make them all something for faire.

Best gift Gotten???

now here is why I feel guilty...I got four things that ROCKED on toast.

a serger
a hand woven, hand dyed, century old, 100% wool, eight x twelve crimson and black rug from Afganistan
a full sized, fabulously framed and matted print of the Knight and his Lady (I cried)
and a natural fibers journal - it's that rustic paper and it's gorgeous.
oh....and I got this velvet throw, with gold trim and tassels that just screams INDIA!!!

Hmmm...the best gift given? I would have to say it's a toss up between the ring I gave Mum and the opera tickets I gave my beloved. Mom has been wanting a gold band with channel-set diamonds for years and this year I sold all of my company stock and got it for her. For Sir, the Russian Grand Opera is coming to town Jan 31 and Feb 1st and I got us tickets for both shows. The first show being Il Travotore and the second being a matinee of Tosca.

The best gift received? Again, a toss up. The picture frame made of broken pottery that my sweet little girl made me was definitely the most sentimental, especially since she wrote her full name on the mat. My collar that Sir gifted me with was probably the most cherished.

PK
who is now going to finish running errands so she can go spend time with her beloved (how mushy is that????)

Best given - a video copy of "6 Day Bike Rider" - a 1934 Joe E. Brown comedy that my hubby (and I) have been trying to find for the last several years. Made him happy, which is always good for me. Best received described in "best prezzie" - a handmade book from Sasha.
