View Full Version : Oklahoma Faire?
Has anyone ever attended the Oklahoma Renaissance Faire in Muskogee? We are looking for a reasonably cheap weekend get-away and were thinking about attending the Masked Ball opening weekend.
Does anyone know if there is camping on or near site or what other lodging there is nearby? I can't seem to find anything on their website to indicate either way.

Rhia, it was so nice to meet you and Josephine this weekend. I'm just sorry that I was too busy to get to know you a bit better. I'm hoping to make the invasion trek with fellow cast members of OkRF to Scarby for Memorial Day weekend. Just have to find a cheap motel to crash in, as I don't do camping well.
Here's to hoping another meeting will take place and last longer!
(sorry it took so long to post this - got in late Sunday and work sucked yesterday!)
We had a FABULOUS time in Oklahoma this past weekend! The rogue and I are already making plans for NEXT year - opening weekend, masked ball; I'm going to start in on the Texas wenches for an invasion.
What a beautiful faire!
Even with the threat of "heavy hail" and "tornado watches" (IN OKLAHOMA! no less) we braved the weather, drove up Friday night, camped in the tent; spent a very wet, cold day at the faire. We still had a wonderful time. Everyone was in very good spirits despite the weather and no one seemed to let it get them down.
Aoife - It was lovely to meet you and we would LOVE to see you at Scarby Memorial Day weekend! If you need a place to crash you are welcome to stay with us or I know a few of the other wenches would be more than happy to volunteer (we're a bit far from site).
Josephine - I'm sorry we didnt' get a chance to talk; I know you all were more than ready to get out of the cold/wet and get into the pub. I hope the instruments were a little more "tune-able" on Sunday!
Kitty (Captain Emerald) - I have to say that was the WARMEST welcome I've ever received from someone I'd never met! It was fabulous to meet you and (I'm embarrassed to say, I've forgotten the other wench's name) as well as your dashing rogue.
Beth - I can't thank you enough for the passes you sent. We had a really wonderful time and you have sold us on OKRF! It was great to meet and to get to talk with you; I can't wait to here Queen's Gambit again - it was lovely!
I hope I haven't forgotten anyone... If I have, I am VERY sorry! We had a fab time and it was fantastic meeting all the new wenchly faces! Please let me know if you ever make it to Scarby or Dallas as I would love the opportunity to return the hospitality.

Rhia,
I am so glad that you and your Rogue enjoyed our lil' faire! It was truly a pleasure to meet you both and I look forward to seeing you guys next year!! I will give ya a shout the next time I'm down south, count on it :D
Hopefully next year, we will have an invasion from you and your fellow Texas wenches, that would so rock.
Gotta jet, catch ya later

Except for the cold, wet, miserable opening day, and the mind and body-numbing travel which, should we be invited to return, we will do differently, we enjoyed ourselves immensely, and it was very good to see and meet a bunch of wenches there, some of whom I hadn't met before (Rhia and Aoife). Y'all have a very very good Faire there. :D
