Hello, I'm a new (at least to IWG ...not life lol) wench waiting for my #. would 29 be my local? I'm in the St. Louis area. I have been talking to some friends of mine that have been menbers for a while and they would like to use my booth as a hostel. I've email the scribe but have yet to hear back. Is there anyone else we could email about this?

TIA

Lars is only getting to his email about twice a week at the moment, so give him a bit of time. Generally, it's not up to him, but to the booth owner and faire management. And the Local, of course!

Good luck!

:) well seeing as I'm the booth owner, I don't think that is a problem :D , faire management doesn't have a problem either, so I guess that leaves the local? Anyone else wanna weigh in on this??

Bueller?......

Works fine with me - not that I'm official or anything - but until we hold elections, I'm trying to pull everything back together.

ok..so let me make sure I understand this, Local 29 isn't a full fledged local yet? But is in the process of getting going? ok...got that well then I guess I will just declare the Honey Booth (Femme Osage Apairy) at GSLRF as the hostel...(is that ok?) We have a member willing to stand in as the Dame for now, um....is there anything else I need to know??? I'm soo excited about faire starting and getting to meet other wenches traveling through!! :D :D :D

Local 29 was active then went dormant. All of the elected officers had to resign for various reasons, and their terms would have been up by now anyway. The local was originally chartered at Kansas City and encompassed Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Southern Iowa, Northern Arkansas and Northern Oklahoma.

I think Oklahoma is working on chartering their own local since they really have enough wenches to do so. We've never had a lot of membership from outside Kansas and Missouri, however.

St. Louis currently falls under local 29 and can certainly start a hostel. The local as a whole needs to hold elections and get hostel dames in place for the other faires in the area (mid-missouri, St. Louis, Wichita, etc.) I just haven't had time to get elections going - but I plan to after Memorial weekend.
