I recently came up with an idea as a side business. I wanted to run it past a few people before I started this endeavor…

We all have garb in our closets we no longer wear or want and Ebay is such a hassle in selling garb. I thought about setting up a web consignment shop for garb. There is such a site for Irish Dance dresses, and I thought this would be an easy (and cost effective) way for everyone to buy and sell garb.

As I see it- If you wanted to sell something, you would email me pics, description (Including sizes, color, etc) and how much you would like for it. I would post the pics and description for a small fee (TBD) and any interested party would deal directly with you for purchase, shipping etc.

I would also be willing to set up a links section for garb makers and such..

So what does everyone think? Would this be a service you would use???

Actually, yeah! I hate doing things through eBay and right now I"m sitting on a bodice about 4 sizes too big, along with a few other things from back when I was far skinnier.
I think that's a cool idea! :)

I would post the pics and description for a small fee..

my suggestion is that you come up with a fee for the act of posting and setting the ad. And then charge a percentage of the take, should the somethng like $10 and 5%...

What the dance dress site does is charge a % of the listing price of the dress, this way she is sure she gets her $$ up front. That was what I thought I'd do..

The "fee" is for your time and effort in putting the ad up (plus webhosting) and the % is for the Venue which you are providing...

I think it is a great idea. I have some bodices I need to get rid of myself.

I have some bodices as well that I've been hesitating to put on Ebay.... I'd rather see a site devoted just to garb than wade through Ebay.
