This past year has definitely been a roller coaster ride for all of us. I have greatly enjoyed being a part of the Local 13 IWG guild. Due to weather conditions we didn't get to have a couple of the outdoor get togethers like I had planned. And my apologies also due to my unexpected back surgery that threw a big kink in there as well. I hope I have been approachable during this past year and have tried to keep to what I said I wanted to help accomplish in our local. We have had a fantastic year and wonderful officers in the form of our LM Kae and the Lt Madames Constance and Elizabeth.

For the next year if I re-elected we already have fantastic charity project that will benefit fellow ren enthusiasts...This will definitely be a group participation project. I am still hoping on having a family event at blueberry picking (barring rain) this coming year (even if I have to wear waders!) The participation and ideas coming in from many wenches this past year has been great and I really want to see that grow again this year. Our membership for our local has also increased and I am planning on making that number increase yet again during this next 2 year term.

I will be planning on heading down to the other two areas (Houston, Austin/San Antonio) to meet with any Wenches in the area that would like to get together. That would be a great road trip for any of our Wenches and Rogues up here that would like to go on a roadtrip!

Most of all I would like to see what you want. We are not one person, one idea. We are many with many styles, ideas, etc. I have always kept my basket open so to speak for communications and ideas and will continue to do so.

Thanks for all the support during this past year and hopefully if re elected for the next 2 years. Nevada

Kae's Platform:

I accept the nomination for Madame of Local 13. I know that I can benefit Local 13. Over the past year as interim Madame many changes have occurred in our Local. We now have a hostel at both Scarborough and Texas Renaissance Faires. At Scarborough and TRF we are permitted to perform wenchings and play games – crowd and Faire appropriate of course. At Scarborough, we are permitted to walk in the parade and also participate in the ratpucking games. It has been my pleasure to see all the effort the wenches of our local have put in to make these things happen. It never ceases to amaze me of what we can accomplish as a local. This year we donated 40 blankets to the Dallas Children’s Hospital, have just begun greeting the soldiers as they return home and through many meets and greet have managed to increase our numbers as well as our friendships. Our presence in the local area is increasing. I would work to see this continue. This month begins the first game night. We are alternating locations and family friendly status – so more can be involved. To promote communication, to promote membership and further friendships, these events are open to all who wish to participate.
I will work to increase the community service and charity events we are already involved in. I want to see everyone in our local feel like they belong. This means working with the other regions and coordinating events. I want to help the other areas in our local grow to the point that they can be their own Local and I will help them achieve that. Oklahoma already has the numbers to do so. I want local 13 to have a presence, a hostel, at every faire in our region. Again, this promotes communication, membership and public awareness. I want every wench in the local and every visiting wench, to feel that they have a place to rest and relax within our boundaries. I honestly believe that Local 13 has the potential to be the biggest and the best Local in the international Wenches Guild. Over the next two years, I would like to begin the planning of a wench conference. I would also like to add charities to our activities, such as Bryan’s House and Rennie Rescue. I want our local to be known for its compassion and its sense of adventure. We love to have fun and that should continue. Next season at Scarborough, I would like to plan and execute several games within just the wench groups and with the rogues as well. Such games I am considering are “pluck a plume” and “Magnatize the Knight in Armour” (Yes, I am stealing that one from TRF because it was soo much fun.) I am open to any other suggestions. ;-) I will promote the regional madames’ activities and aid them in any way they wish. I would greatly like to spend time with more wenches outside of the DFW area. Everyone I have met with so far has been wonderful.
Overall, what I would like to accomplish this next term is to stay on the path we are on. We are increasing our friends, our size, our abilities to communicate, our presence in the world outside of Faire and our activities. It has been fantastic.

Sincerely
Kae
