Pern Series Fans.....

For all of you "Dragonriders of Pern" fans there is a new book coming out in January. It's called "Dragonsblood" and is written by Todd McCaffrey, Anne's son. It takes place in the timeline approximately 500 years after the colonization and is about a plague that is killing dragons. I got advance notice of it from the Science Fiction Book Club so I'm sure there is info on their website: www.sfbc.com

I poured through every last Pern book I could get my hands on in high school...this looks like a good time to pick the trend up again!

I loved the Pern books when I was younger, but thought they were getting to be too similar. I have really liked some of the newer books and am glad to hear they are still exploring the history of the world. I'll keep my eye out for it!

Methinks I'll give this one a skip. I liked the first ones but, as KissMeKate said, they have gotten too similar. The last two or three I read were a disappointment.

ok, so let me spoil it- Got the uncorrcted proof for it. Storyline is definitely Pern, but the wrting style is all his. So I definitely recommend it for the Pern readers out there. Do not ask me what it is about. Can't say unti lit is released!
