(As the Sheriff sneaks unto the boards between customers...)

For those interested in live silliness (like that we've been discussing in "open thread #2)..
might I humbly suggest the following? (Humor and fencing and food- Oh My! -and banter.. lots & lots o' banter... did I mention banter?)

Morghan! Artos! You'll have better additional info 'bout this than I... RALLY!

Amid Punners' Eve

7th Baronial Birthday of the Endless Hills

29 January, AS 37
Kingston VFW, Kingston PA.

Medieval times at its funniest!

Come play with us, the Barony of Endless Hills, as we celebrate our seventh birthday on January 29, 2005 with a pun-filled day of gaming, fencing, dancing and eating. Seven years of "baronialism" is enough to make the best of us wacky, but we're not dead yet so we're breaking loose with pun and games.

The site is Anthracite Post #283, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, 757 Wyoming Ave, Kingston PA 18704, where our baronial investiture was held last year. It has lots of space for fun, tolerance for us, a cash bar, and will be open from 9 AM to 9 PM. The day will be filled with multitudes of groans and gaming, daring dancing (including lessons for us who haven't danced in years) and fun frenetic fencing with foil and word. Our feast will leave you filled with laughter as well as delicious food!

So bring your rapier wit as well as rapiers and your puniest parry device. Sharpen your moves for the game board and the dance floor. Whet your appetite for buns and puns. And bring your coconut shells...prize for the best steed!

Bring your p/funniest A&S project to display.

Bring a full pocketbook too. Where else will you find "posies" to dispel the evil humours and reliquaries of the true saints and miracles, as well pardons and curses?

It's a blast from the past!

Feastocrat and artist with a spoon is Lady Kateryna Ty Isaf. Please direct any questions concerning the feast to her

Questions and reservations should be sent to co-Autocrat THL Maria Pienkneplotno

There is no merchant fee but merchants must register prior to the event to reserve space and/or tables with Merchant coordinator, co-Autocrat Lady Deianeira Argante o Annwfn

This is a "conditional" wet site: there will be a cash bar from 2 PM to 7 PM. Please be aware that due to legal site restrictions, ANY ALCOHOL ON SITE MUST BE BOUGHT AT THE VFW CASH BAR, no alcohol may be brought onto the VFW Hall property. This rule shall be strictly enforced.

Lunch will be served to all attending the event. The site is handicap accessible. Changing space is very limited. Reserve early for the limited feast space.

Site fee: Onboard adult (18 and over) a mere $12.00. Onboard youth (13-17) $11.00. Onboard child (4-12) $6.00. Offboard adult (18 and over) $6.00. Offboard youth (13-17) $5.00. Offboard child (4-12) $3.00. Babes in arms (3 and under) are not charged any fees. Make checks payable to SCA Inc-Barony of Endless Hills.

The NMS fee of $3.00 will be charged to adults (18 and over) if a current proof of membership is not shown.

DIRECTIONS:

Take your best route to Interstate 81 - Exit 169-170 to Route 309 North. Follow 309 to Exit 4, Forty Fort/Kingston. Turn left at the traffic light at the end of the exit ramp, and go straight through the next traffic light. Turn right onto East Bennett St; there's a Turkey Hill on the corner. Follow Bennett St to the first traffic light, which is Route 11. Make a left turn onto Rt. 11 and go 1 1/2 blocks. The VFW is located on the left immediately across from Gerrity's supermarket. There's a large gray artillery piece in front. Parking is to the right of the VFW behind Curry Donuts.

Well.. I can say - 2 of the rogues on this board are actively involved in the event.. Artos has a few different roles to portray (that's what he gets when his sister is the co-autocrat - snicker) - and Po will be very active (and busy) on the martialate side.

On a rapier note.. (as I have left this in the capable hands of the Fencing Marshal who has taken charge of this particular event) - Fergus is planning a rather unique rapier challange.

The feast will be rather unique as well - as it is being planned as more than just "chow time".. its more of a meal (of several removes) with a bit of entertainment tossed into the mix..

Think -- Monty Python meets Medieval Times...

HUZZAH! Yup, that's what I get for sis running the event....I get volunteered for things...though my part in the fencing is my own offer... It promises to be more fun than a cartful of dead folks ("I'm not dead yet! You're not fooling anyone, you'll be stone dead in a moment..") I just can't resist the python quotes some days...

Right behind "Curry Doughnuts?"

Sorry, something struck me about that phrase!
