In an effort to help calm the waters a bit, I have added an experimental "ignore" feature.... Any help testing would be appreciated.

Will do...
I will out my husband (Muireadach - PirateRogue) on ignore, since we read over our shoulders anyway.

Just tested... and it seems to be working. It shows that he posted, but if I want to read it I have to follow a link.

Cool - thats just what I wanted it to do. I don't want the fact that someone posted to be hidden - and I dont' necessarily want the posts to be hidden from the person who ignored - but at least this way, if there is junk on the boards that people would rather not see, its much easier to just let it go, since the stuff that's pissing you off won't be right in front of your face. (The collective "you", of course)

At this point, no one has any excuse to fan the flames on threads that have had people really upset. If they use the ignore feature, the only way the other people's posts will piss them off is if they deliberately look to see what they have posted.

Most excellent!

I will stop ignoring the husband now. He might pout.

How do you unignore someone? I accidently hit the ignore box for a post and now the memeber is on ignore. how do I switch it back?

I am trying to remember exactly how I did it when I ignored the Husband this morning.

Click the post of the ignored person.
Click ignore. It will say you have already ignored them.
Click the HERE in all caps, where it says to go to the ignore list.
Click the X box across from their name.

Poof! They are no longer ignored.

Thank you. Put a shiney new button in front of me and of course I had to press it without reading what it was first.

I actually figured this out on my own, as I've put two people on ignore this morning because I'm not paying attention. :)

Snipe, the ignore feature is good and I like the way it's set up. If you really want to read the post, you can. I like having the options to still read the previous post of the person and see their info even if ignored.

I need to just open my eyes and realize "quote" is to the right of "ignore". :)
