Any large family recipe ideas?

I find ithard to feed my family of 5 with recipes that are either too time consuming or that are for the average family of 4. My eldest child normally eats 2-3 helpings and like his father, remains skinny! So I guess i actually cook for a family of 6-7 whenever he eats!

Any ideas on how to stretch a meal ?

What kind of things do they like? Will they eat veggies? Beans or other grains? Any allergies?
Type of cuisine too...do they like spicey ? Italian? German or just meat and potatoes type stuff?
