hello! i'm new to the iwg and a long time scarby patron.

do we have a hostel, general meeting place, some such thing at scarby?

as of now, the hostel is at the Horne Shoppe in the Pecan Grove.

If I remember rightly (only because I've slept since then :shock: ) the meeting place outside the gates was to the left as you face them, under the trees...

but I could be mistaken. ~L~ it's been known to happen.

as concerns the hostel: can i bring anything? chairs, blankets, itty-bitty battery-powered water-misting fans? :wink:

Not sure on what you can bring. I'm sure the closer we get to opening, the more information will be around.

we gladly take any donations for the hostel....They are working on the shoppe right now to make it ready for the season....there are usually posted times on the board on when the Dame is there but if you would like to set up a specific time and place to meet up just post and I am sure it can be arranged...welcome and have a great season!

Neeloca and myself were out at Scarby a couple weeks ago checking the hostel site. A little spring cleaning was needed to prepare for faire.

As for donations, I am looking for sales on water and gaterade to stock up for the hostel. Camp chairs are appreciated. We will also need items for our "necessity box". Donations of things like....spools of thread, sewing pins, safety pins, bobby pins, first aide items (ie a box of band aids, antibiotic ointment, sunscreen, sunburn gel, etc.) and feminine hygeine products will be needed to fill the box.

I doubt we will need blankets (except for maybe the first couple weekends) but I do like the idea of misting fans! If you can think of anything else post it so we all know what to start looking for.

The dame hasn't decided her hours of operation yet. I know I'll be in the hostel from 10:15 until 10:45 in the morning. As everyone knows, the dame schedules herself into the hostel around Don Juan and Miguel. At the present time, I'm thinking of 10:15 - 10:45, 11:50 - 12:20, 2:20 - 2:50. Have to work on the last time period. I have to check schedules for Jim Hancock, Shantyman, and others before I make a decision. If anyone of Jade status or higher is interested in taking a shift at the hostel on Saturday or Sunday, let me or Kae know.
