Is anyone else as excited about opening weekend as I am? Maybe because my rogue and I will celebrated our one year anniversary at that time. I want to meet as many sister wenches as possible, from local 13 and all the others, and I want everyone to celebrate with us. Ye all are invited, rogues included. Also, I had the same question about the kilt check. Was wondering also what it was and how you exactly go about performing one.........
Wow - you are full o f questions.
The hostel at Scarby is behind the Horne Shoppe - just give Sakeeta a hug and in you go. Countess Mary is our local Hostel Dame and will be able to introduce you to all of us!
As for a kilt check - it depends on the Rogue in question and the ammount of children near-by.
If you want a demonstration I am sure there will be a rogue around willing to volunteer.
We so look forward to seeing everyone out there. And if you want to earn your wenches sash - be prepared to do the walk. We have permission to walk in the parade each day. If you are able to walk 3 times, you earn a sash the 1st year and a stripe the next year.
See you soon.
If you need any more detail or have any more questions, pm me on the boards.

Oh wow that was just great. I had such a fabulous time with Leo, Doe, Sara, Holly, Christine (sp?), Stephanie! Meeting everyone was fabulous, at the hostel being able to duck in and grab a water really kept me on my feet saterday. While coffee was a god send Sunday. :) I will be bringing a donation case of water next time I come up. My first time to Scarby and I walked all over the place and going with people that seem to know everyone there, was just really neat. I had so much fun meeting all the wenches and rogues. Learning how to do a proper and not so proper kilt check. thank you Doe! The art of giving a :lick: smooch thank you Leota. And best of all the wonderful wenches who know how to have a great time and are prepared to teach the newbie. Thank you to everyone and HI to everyone I met. If anyone wants to go again from Spring/Houston let me know I pack in 10 min. Hugs Love THanks again for driving Leo!

It was a fabulus opening weekend. Thanks to all who came by the hostel. I'll have more favors for wenches next Saturday. It was good to meet with our sisters from the Houston area. I was glad to see several new sisters I had not met before this weekend. Although our showing in parade was small both days, we were there. As Kae said, three times walking will earn your blue sash. We're going to have a stripe or something to add to the sashes of those wenches who earned their sashes last year. Unfortunately, it does start over each year. We generally follow the rules of the Royal Guard. Hope to see everybody next weekend. Come by and sign the guest book.

Glad to see you again dear! I didn't get to sign the guest book. When I ambled by right after the gates opened, it hadn't been found yet and my second pop by I completely forgot to sign it.
Is there anything I can bring next weekend for a hostel donation?

No clue darlin' ~L~ Unfortunately, I only made it Saturday. I'll be out this coming Saturday and I'm trying for both days Highland weekend. After that it's an attempt at both days on Mother's Day weekend and one more day later in May.
and speaking of coats, my frock isn't going to be seen at Scarby this year. too bloody warm for it! maybe there'll be a day at TRF it'll be cool enough to wear it.

I wont be back again until May 1, then MAYBE the Saturday of Mom's Day - fingers crossed. Then the Sunday and Monday of Memorial Day.
Sorry I'll miss the coat, but I understand!
We took a totally new turn for garb/persona this year and I'm bodice-less... let me tell you, I may NEVER go back!! I could breathe, tie my own shoes, get my arms higher than shoulder height, felt every breeze... Fabulous! *g*
