Does anyone else feel that there's a tremendous opportunity being missed by Mike Rowe for Dirty Jobs? I see the folks hauling around 8 trash bags at a time in 90°+ heat and I think, "Man, that job sucks. Mike Rowe should do that."

Just a thought.

Put him in the rental booth lacing up danes into bodices.

Of course, that's the other definition of "dirty". ;-)

I third it!

I'd love to see him do a job at a Ren Faire. How about cleaning up after the horses? In garb, of course.

I've posted on the website that he should try being a squire, but they haven't done it just yet.

But I fourth that he is one hot hunk of man!

Haha I can hear the news now

" Mike Rowe of Dirty Jobs was accosted by a large group of wenches at the local Renaissance Festival.. He is not filing a complant though he has requested to stay longer....."

I would be all over this! Oh wait...

Mike Rowe is local-ish and still has family in the area, I believe. He did one episode at a Bowie Baysox game. I still kick myself for missing it!

So I submitted an idea to the Dirty Jobs site. Here's how I wrote it:

"Mike,

I'm a Ren-Fest vet of over ten years, but I don't actually work there. I have, however, seen some of these people who work behind the scenes and gotten to know some of them, too. They do some of the nastiest jobs out there, from emptying and carrying up to ten trash bags at a time several times a day, to cleaning out horse stalls and elephant paddocks, to mucking out some of the food pits. What you have to appreciate is that most of this is done (at least here in the Maryland Renaissance Festival) in what is sometimes 90+° heat, in dusty, rough terrrain; rain or shine, and in costume. The season starts in late August and ends usually the last weekend before Halloween.

If you need to contact at MDRF, you might want to e-mail Mr. Alan Gibson, the Minister of Public Relations at [email protected]

You have a great show! Here's hoping this idea makes the cut. Oh, extra insentive for Barski, the food and drink is very tasty and the prices won't break you.

Hoping this message finds you and yours well,

Mighty Rontor."

Actually - the incentive for Barski would be the women in bodices. ::waggle::

...Well, yeah, I mean that's obviously obvious; but he's got to keep up his strength, too, right?

Cool! I hope he takes you up on the offer.
I've always thought he would make a great Rogue.... ::waggle::
