Good day ladies. I have a few items of interest for you.

Appointments
First off, the really good news. Amy, the former madame of Local 24 has agreed to come back on board as my Dame of Vice. You will know her as Morgan le Fay from the KAF faire.

*mwhahahaha*

A simple bribe of backrubs and chocolates was all it took. I am so glad that she accepted and look forward to working with her.

Guild Info
Second, if you read the message boards at http://forums.wench.org (and if you don't you should!), you will see that there has been some discussion lately about establishing a more formal code of conduct for the guild.

The guild has grown so much (there are over 3,000 wenches now) that what worked as a code of conduct before needs to be revisited. If you have any suggestions, comments, criticisms, please contact me.

Wench Gathers
My apologies that we did not have one this winter. As many of you know we moved, so entertaining was not on my mind. If anyone would like to open their home for a gather, a stitch and bitch or the like, please let me know.

If something at someone's home is not feasible, how about a Boston Harbor cruise or dinner at Medieval Manor? Of course, nonwenches, potential wenches, and your rogues would be welcome. I'll post a poll and see what you all think.

Stockwood
Local 24 was in the house big time at Stockwood. We came, we saw we conquered. Thanks to everyone who volunteered your time to help make Stockwood such a great faire. Wenches from Local 24 worked the front gate taking tickets and peace-tying, acted as runners for production staff and helped out at the information booth and other locations.

There were more of us at the wench meet-and-greet than even the local Local 69.

I think we did Lars proud . . . and the rogues liked us too :)

More Good News
The cookbook that we put together has been an incredible success. We started selling the book in February and have already come close to our sales goals. So far, we have sold over 300 books. We will be selling books until the end of the faire season. If you have not ordered your copy, email [email protected] and I will send you ordering information. Remember, the proceeds for sale of the book go to Make-A-Wish in honor of Baj. Buy early, buy often.

All Quiet on the Wench Front
You guys have been really quiet on the boards lately. What's going on with you all? Talk to us! :)

ISO New England Wenches
I have a feeling I don't have every wench's contact information that I should have. If you know someone who should be getting this email, pass it on and have her contact me so we can add her to the group.

That's all for now.

Medieval Manor would be a LOT of fun for a wench gather.

Just don't do it during Pennsic or you'll make me cry !!

I promise it will be on a non-faire, non-Pennsic weekend. Just so I know, when is Pennsic this year?

Another cool thing about dinner at MM . . . some faire people work there.

Kate,

Why not make the gathering at Bisuteki, since you and I talk about it constantly? LOL!

I think Medieval Manor would be a good idea as well.

If an outsider (i.e. not Local lass) might poke her tuppence in the conversation here, I don't know what Medieval Manor is, but perhaps that could be a destination for the "Mid-Winter I Need A Ren Faire Fix" that I hope to make it to between Christmas and New Years.

Just a thought... :D

An excellent idea. For those of you not in the area who want to know what MM is, think ren faire meets dinner theatre. Their web site is http://www.medievalmanor.com/. An obscene amount of food is served, sans silverware. Interspersed with dinner are comedy and musical acts. I've never been to Medieval Times, but it is like that, without the jousting.

We normally go in garb.

Not only does the cast entertain for the evening, they are also your wait staff. Can you say an amazing amount of work?

Sean from the Jo-Jo the Great Show works there. If the name does not ring a bell, think of the guy who dresses a bit like a bumblebee.

Josie, have you firmed up plans for when you might be in the Boston area?

I've requested the time off; however, haven't heard whether it's approved yet or not. :sigh: I'm debating whether to drive out, or fly out and rent a car, or just what... Budget, you know... The less I spend *getting* there, the more I get to spend *while* I'm there.
