OMG- that's so funny because yesterday my cat Gypsy was chasing after some bugs. We had to turn off the lights so she didn't destroy my mother's lamp!

Ursus was doing this the other day after I bought some crickets for my frogs. One of them had gotten loose and he was all over the place chasing after it.

It's more fun when they chase a fly but less so when it's a flying roach.

Shudder...

Be glad it's only bugs. When I lived at the apartment, there were some lovely huge-ass rats and occasionally the cat would leave one on the doorstep for me. I do love how cat looked so very proud of his hunting prowess.

My cat years ago would bring home doves (sometimes tail feathers removed), moles, a bat (she was very proud of that one) and a young rabbit. The local rescue agency knew our car on sight! Luckily now the must I have to worry about are bugs but I remember her proud looks and see it in our current feline friends.

I had to slap some plywood up on the cat door after my hunter decided the best time to present me with gifts was at 3am ... in bed. He was so proud.

Just came home this evening & saw a scrawny possum at my doorstep. He was eating some cat food that had been left out by my neighbor for the ferals in the area. Looks like we are unintentionally feeding ALL of the feral animals in our immediate area not limited to & including cats, dogs, possums, skunks, raccoons, birds, squirrels and others that I have either missed or not yet seen.

I'm glad that my cats have not yet seen the other feral animals other than the stray cats in and around the place. I have enough of a problem with crickets & roaches, I really don't want to have to deal with other critters in my apartment unless I bring them in myself.
