Cute. But technically, bell bottoms were a convention of the late 60s. They were pretty much dead by the early 70s. ;-)

Well, dangit. Nobody told my mom--she sent me to school in horrid purple ones in 1976. (Yay for emotional scarring...) :-D

You and me both, babe -- from the mid-late 70's. I have photographic evidence that will not see the internets. ;-)

My Mom put me in Corduroy, bell bottom pants. Shit Brown. Every time I think back to those nasty pants I here Bill Cosby's comedy routine about corduroy, bell bottom pants. I went to elementary school in the late 70's early 80's wearing those pants. Then Mom & Dad decided to put me in pastel, polyester pants (pink, blue, green, tan, yellow). Gods I HATED school clothes shopping as a kid. May be the reason why I despise shopping now.

Your timewarp back to 1975 is now complete; thank you for joining us. Please take small children firmly by the hand/belt loop/daishiki and exit the tram to your left. Have a righteous, out-of-sight-eous day, and keep on truckin'!

Now...if you can sing along to this clip below, you and I probably watched PBS at the same time each day! :aok:

I wore the hell out of toughskins when I was a kid. They were the only pants we didn't destory on the farm. Of course, I forced my Mother to buy me Lee jeans at Farm and Fleet before school started. I had enough problems without getting teased for my clothes.

Toughskins were my Mother's sanity-saver when my little brother and I were young. Anything else had holes in the knees within 48-hours.

*snicker* Thanks, gals.

The thing is, that's the only way I could word it to get the thought across (about the jeans standing up to kid-play) and knew it was leaving an opening for a smartass comment. Just thought I'd make the joke first. ::whistle::
