Hello Local 57!

My name is Sarah Brinkman and this is my platform for Vice Madameship.

A bit about myself first for those who do not know me. I am 28 years old, I live with 5 very spoiled cats in Cincinnati, Ohio and I have been in the Guild for over 5 years. I've been attending Renaissance Festivals since I was in the 6th grade and I am proud to be Wench #3358.
I work for an office solutions company doing a little bit of everything. They've placed me in advertising agencies, grocery super chains, commercial real estate firms and even colleges. I can work with a wide array of different types of people, even when they might not be the easiest to deal with.
I will be honored to work with the elected Madam to further the local in many ways. I think that we have a fantastic network of people who we have already begun to put to great use. Between DAW and Relay for Life we have raised significant amounts of money for others in need. I believe that we can do even more. I'd like to see everybody put their heads together and come up with more ideas for fundraising and, as corny as it sounds, there is always the emphasis on the FUN part of FUNdraiser.

I also would like to arrange more off season events/gatherings. We are a far flung Local, but little local gatherings and maybe even a larger pre-faire meet up a month or two before faire would be a fantastic way to generate excitement and ideas for the coming season. The game of Rose Tag when we had to go see Santa in garb two years ago was so much fun, that I'd like to see more. We may not all live close, but this group makes connecting both on and off season so much easier.

I also look forward to working with Wenches from MI, IN and OH for guild matters. I hope that having a multi-state Privy Council will be a unifying effect on our Local. MIRF and OHRF may be the two largest faires, but there are so many wonderful smaller but growing faires (Fisher's, Derbyshire, Mayfaire ect) that have so much to contribute. All Faires started off small and it's loyal Wenches, Rogues and Rennies that help them flourish.

I have been to many different Faires in the east and MIRF has some of the most welcoming and amazing Wenches I've had the privilege to meet. Thank you for this opportunity and I am honored to count myself as a member of the Local 57.

WENCHES FOREVER!
