SM didn't see it. I sure as hell don't see it. Who sees it?
(Choice of team aside, that is... it appears to be a Canadiens jersey.)

Personally - I think it's much ado about nothing. Now if the gentleman would kindly turn around, I could decide if he's hot from both sides. hehehe

Oh - and for the record - I find these creatures far more repugnant than a guy in a kilt!!!

Agreed. Especially since there's a high probability that one could find me in a WalMart wearing a non-traditional kilt with combat boots and a hockey jersey. I'd be sporting the Avalanche, though.

Not a thing wrong with that ensemble. However, those pics daB posted may give me nightmares tonight. Seriously, why do they even make those kinds of fashions for anything over a size 12? It's just not gonna look right!

don't see anything wrong with the man in the kilt. Also shrugged at the cammo Camaro. It was a cute car.

guys, we're rennies? our perceptions of "man in kilt" are going to be different than those not in our sub culture.

so, yeah, I thought the "Hooligan" caption was funny as hell. I wonder if he has the DKM's on his iPod ;)

SK - thanks for posting the image... the only problem I see with the pic is that the shirt/jersey covers up too much of what could be the awesomeness of the kilt.

Shadowcat, thanks for the general people of walmart link, but for some reason my computer just isn't liking that website at all, even this morning.

Demmit woman! You took my post! ;-)

While kilts are totally 'normal' to us - still not so much for the outside world.

You know what's cool? The 'kilt culture' is spreading. I work in a library, and we're not allowed to wear shorts in the summer. Two of the guys are pissed that they're forced to wear long pants while women can cool off in short skirts. I suggested kilts, and to my astonishment and delight, they loved the idea. Sent them a bunch of links, and they're kilt-shopping right now. I can't wait to see the reaction of the bosses, and of the customers!!!

(And bonus: I get to work with two guys wearing kilts!!!!! How is this not a total win????)

I got money on management having something against it.

Kilts aren't mentioned in the dress code, and they always say we can wear whatever we like as long as it's not forbidden in the code! So, at the very least, it will be fun to watch the powers-that-be try to explain why kilts aren't acceptable. They can't even say they're too 'casual' like shorts...since people wear them as formal wear....

My direct boss told me once not to wear a certain pair of shoes again because they 'scared' her (they had semi-high heels and she can't wear anything but flats herself). I marched the shoes into the head boss's office, and asked whether they offended *her* - or if they were against the code. End of the story is, I'm still wearing those shoes to work!!!

I know I'm not the only one who tends to find that site sort of..cruel? I guess that's a way to think of it. They are focused primarily on mocking the poor and obese.

Of course, I could just be tired and thinking way too hard about this

actually~ funny story~ my husband works for sams club, he is an optician there and has been for years.... he can wear a kilt as long as its kahki, his lab coat wasnt longer than his kilt, and he wears something under it... *rotfl* their managment had to "talk" about it and these were the only issues they could find! they said because women get to have options(ie they get to wear skirts) and kilts were actually nicer and more expensive than his actual dress pants they couldnt see an issue with it....

thought id share.....

Cool! My guys' kilts will also be khaki, and they do plan to wear something under them. Personally, I'd LOVE to see more guys working in kilts - if management only realized that's one way of drawing me into stores I wouldn't normally shop....! *rotfl*
