I'm bad at introductions, so please excuse the awkwardness of this post. My name is David, but most people at fair or in the SCA call me Shiny. As the name implies, I have an almost uncontrollable obsession with shiny objects. Although I have a few friends in the IWG, none of them are really active on this board. Most of my friends are in NY...which sucks since I'm stuck in OK, but i'm constantly trying to figure out how to get back there. When there is work, I'm a computer geek. Most of my free time is spent playing in the fire.

See...told you I was bad at this.

Welcome! that puts you in Local 13's neck of the woods. Are you coming down for anything other than TRF? We have Scarby, Middlefaire, Sherwood, Four Winds and many other little ones in this area.
PM me if you need more info or have questions about the area. Oklahoma is in the wind tunnel and some say the middle of No Where, I just say its just shy of Texas - and that is something to be proud of.

Welcome! What part of OK are you in? My hubby spent 3 years in Ft. Sill. I was in Lawton for 2 of them. If you get a chance to, come out to any of the other faires out here. You will have a great time meeting everyone. =)

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate the warm welcome.

Kae- It is the middle of nowhere. And I'd love to go to any of those events...assuming I could get there.

Marelle- I'm in Tuttle right now. Beats the hell out of the city, but still now a great place to be.

Greetings and well come! :hi: I'm sure you'll quickly find that you're not the only one easily distracted by shiney things. (Take me, for example!) Must say though, I haven't the touch or the patience to work in the fire - let alone the know-how to make lovely things like those pictures I saw on the other thread! LOVELY!

Damn, another married Rogue! I swear, it's like we all have to build our own Rogues from scratch all the time. I had one but now I need a new one, preferable one in a kilt. The last one said he wouldn't wear one but when I said, while drunk mind you and on our first date, "too bad, then I can't kilt check you" he bought one the next day. I kid you not. Had him for two years.
