A pair of writers at the Miami New Times are having trouble repressing their glee (http://www.miaminewtimes.com/2010-05-06/news/christian-right-leader-george-rekers-takes-vacation-with-rent-boy/1) that they managed to snap (with their "hot-pink digital camera") George Alan Rekers, a right-wing Christian leader and anti-gay lobbyist, getting off a plane at Miami International Airport with a sizzling-hot gay escort. The prostitute, nicknamed "Lucien" by the paper, was available for hire on the gay-escort site Rentboy.com

This would be the George Alan Rekers who is the founder of that fine upstanding organization, the Family Research Council.

My my my... yet another one bites the dust from their high and mighty pulpit. When are people going to realize these people are the ultimate hypocrites? Keep on destroying yourselves from within, right-wings. Good job. ::clappin:

From their website, bolding mine:

Family Research Council believes that homosexual conduct is harmful to the persons who engage in it and to society at large, and can never be affirmed. It is by definition unnatural, and as such is associated with negative physical and psychological health effects. While the origins of same-sex attractions may be complex, there is no convincing evidence that a homosexual identity is ever something genetic or inborn. We oppose the vigorous efforts of homosexual activists to demand that homosexuality be accepted as equivalent to heterosexuality in law, in the media, and in schools. Attempts to join two men or two women in "marriage" constitute a radical redefinition and falsification of the institution, and FRC supports state and federal constitutional amendments to prevent such redefinition by courts or legislatures. Sympathy must be extended to those who struggle with unwanted same-sex attractions, and every effort should be made to assist such persons to overcome those attractions, as many already have.

(rolls eyes) People wonder why I don't pay attention to what's going on in government and with all the organizations that tell you how to live your life. They aren't worth the time other than to laugh at for a moment and then move on.

Wow - he wasn't even smart about trying to hide his activities. What a goob. Hypocrites who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Somehow this makes a rather down day better! ;-)

Now, now folks...let's not snap to judgment, perhaps this Lucien person reached out to him asking him to cure his homosexuality and Mr Rekers, being the good Christian that he is, kindly obliged and is now privately counseling him to heterosexuality. ::whistle::

And I think the next line should be ... "and I've got prime real estate in Okeefenokee (swamp) in Florida you would just love to look at. "

- ShadowHawke -

A spade is a spade... he's a hypocrite plain and simple.
But you know, your theory does make for some DAYUM GOOD FICTION!

Nice 'stache. Slap some leather on him and he'd blend right in.
