You all have so much experience with using Ebay. I have never even bought anything from there. I have something I want to sell on Ebay, because I hope it willl sell easier and faster than if I go thru my local newspaper. I want to have someone pick up the piece of excercise equip (instead of shipping as it is huge and heavy) and pay bycash/cashier's check, if possible. I have read and read and read the info to get set up and the more I read the more I get confused. Can some one either PM me or list the "Reader's digest" version of what I have to do. Thank you, I know this isn't really for Ebay but was hoping to get some help.

I have never sold anyhting on ebay so I don't know how much help I can be. I do know that there are stores all over the country called "I sold it on ebay" who will actually take care of everything for a small fee. I think it's 10% of the price sold for or a flat fee of something, i'm not sure, it's something to look into if you don't plan on using ebay alot to sell.
Hope that helps some :)

Try Ebay University here http://pages.ebay.com/education/sellingtips/index.html
Use the links on the right side. These are interactive audio turtorials that walk you step by step through the proccess in an easy to understand way.
If they don't help you, let me know.

selling on ebay is easy. You need to create an account and then once you have created an account click on the sell button. Ebay will walk you through the steps. You need to sellect a category to sell in. I think they have an excercise equipment category. You need to write a description of what your selling. Include the details of the equipment, the condition its in, and anything else you think is important. You can include a picture of the item for free. You have to set a starting price for bidding. You can set a reserve price which means you won't sell it unless the bids reach a certain price. (you won't sell for less than say $100) Most auctions are set up for 7 days unless you want to set a price where someone can buy it right away for that price ( buy it now feature) Then you have to set up shipping info. The buyer pays shipping costs so you might want to reconsider shipping it but if not you can specify its pick up only. Make sure in the decription you specify what state your in to let people know where its to be picked up in. You can set up what type of payments you accept, Paypal is easy to set up and allows people to pay you with a credit card. I think that is all, if you have any questions....let me know. I sell lots of stuff on ebay,,,its easy, and much better than a tag sale.
