Bug Report: Edit function sometimes crashes Firefox

Browser: Firefox 1.07
OS: XP Pro 2002 SP2

From time to time, when I click "Edit" in order to edit a post or PM that I had already submitted, while loading the edit page I get a "firefox.exe has encountered a problem and will shutdown" message and firefox shuts down.

I've had that crash about 5-6 times now, and as far as I can recall, it's always been after clicking "edit".

The crash doesn't happen all the time, only occasionally. I'm not yet able to reproduce it at will.

I doubt this is anything that has a fix at a level that you have access to, Snipe, but I figured I'd post this to see if it's a known bug with the vBulletin people and/or if anyone else is having this problem too.

Hey Bob, I'm running Firefox as well but have not seen that problem. At least not yet.

I believe I've managed to figure out how to reproduce the crash fairly consistently.

First, have at least one other tab open in the same browser window, then submit a post and then immediately click edit after the post has been displayed.

edit 4: Okay, 4th time's the charm! So, it's reproducible, just not consistently reproducible. :neutral:

My guess is that Firefrox is crashing on the editor, and only if you edit before the editor is 100% loaded. (It does take a second or two to load up.) I don't think there's much I can do about the crashing though, so you may just want to wait a few more seconds for the editor to fully load before editing anything. Not much help, I know...

I don't think there's much I can do about the crashing though, so you may just want to wait a few more seconds for the editor to fully load before editing anything. Not much help, I know...
