So Emalia asked me tonight from whence I order my corsetting supplies, and I recommended two places: Greenberg & Hammer in New York (http://www.greenberg-hammer.com/), and Delicious Corsets (http://corsetmaking.com/) here in Philly.
I went and compared the two, and surprisingly, only Delicious came out having the busk length I use (15"), and for several dollars less than G&H. Also, their prices for individual bones are comparable, with DC coming slightly ahead of the game.
Also, just because I didn't realise people didn't know I'm a corsetier/costumer, I figured I'd post the URL to what purports to be my embryonic website-- look fast, my ISP's going belly-up and I don't know how long my transfer to a new service will take:

Yeah-- that's exactly it. I'm going with Verizon, and I dread it. But Speakeasy, with whom I actually wanted to go, doesn't offer service in my area, so I'm pretty much stuck. I'm SO not looking forward to this. Anyway, looks like my site will traipse over to my Mac.com account, so at least I can control that.

I know this may sound dumb but what exactly is a busk?

It's okay! It's not really something you come across every week, really, is it? I mean...unless yer me. Gah. Anyway, it's the post-and-keyhole closure that closes the front of many corsets. Check out this link:

I'm guessing you've seen one many times before, just didn't know what they were called.
Hope that helps!

No prob. And really, they are the easiest way to open and close a bodice, and no strain on grommets or tedious lacing. All my corset bodices lace up the sides and back, but you open and close them with a busk. It takes a bit to get the hang of using one, but then they're just spiffy.
One tip, though: when putting them in, sew up the front seams, then on the side where the keyholes will go, mark where each will be, open the seam a few stitches, then stick the busk inside and poke each one out. Then hand-stitch tthe whole seam again for strength. On the post side, mark where each post will go, then use a dab of Fray-Chek over each point. And let it dry before you poke the holes for the posts.
If I had a digital camera, this'd be much easier to explain!
