Ladies -
It appears, barring major disaster, that we will be venturing to Bristol for the first time either July 19th or 20th (it will depend on my nephews' baseball tournament schedules <g>).
Questions:
Where might I find the Hostel?
Walks?
Best things to show virgins? <g> I'll have my sister-in-law and her family with me. My brother in law and neice are really willing to do the garb thing (she's 14).
Besides them, I'll have my 17 year old son and 13 year old (AKA Tink's Bodice Demi-god <g>) with me.
Any help, advice, etc...y'all can provide would be fantastic!
Thanks!

I am coming up on the 19th.
Hostel: Go in the gate and turn right. Go up the hill to the fountain and the Fountainside Gazebo. Turn left. Griffin Candle Co. is the... what, third on the right? You have the glass worker who uses a blowtorch to turn out very nice glass hummingbirds and flowers and other small scale stuff; then you have a hairsticks and jewelry place and then, I think, is Abbey's shop. Well, once you turn left at the Gazebo, just walk forward and look to the right, it's hard to miss.
Walks: Sign up sheets at the Hostel, more info at the Hostel, times are 1:30 and 4:30 (Thanks, Abbey! :hi: ).
What to show virgins: There's a lot there, the vast majority of it is good. If your tastes turn to music, I can recommend Pint & Dale (whose run there is ending if not this weekend then the next one), the Gypsy Guerilla Band, Minstrels of Mayhem (Ahem!), Craig of Farrington wandering around with his lute always ready to sing a song, CrossRogues - or just about anyone else that's there.
Other shows - I believe MooNiE is in the house, IIRC he was only not there opening weekend. Other than that, others will have to point you to the variety acts, I'm not really sure who all is up there...
The court look very good - Bristol/REC do have some of the highest standards of costume regs in this regard - and can be seen wandering around if they're not attending the Queen (some of them are friends of mine). There's a lot to do, and a lot of people to see, and I'm sure others will post many things for you all to see and do as well.

Josie is right, my shop is right next to The Crown Jewels (hair trix/sticks & jewerly). The Leather Bottle Pub is across this street from my shop, Griffin Candle Co.
Walks are at 1:30 & 4:30 each day. There is a sign-in sheet with places to mark if you wish to walk that day. There is water and ice available too.
I hope to see you soon! Just drop by and introduce yourself! :D

:singdanc: Yay!! Another wench & family to meet. What a great weekend to come, it's Romance weekend. Of course its also Scout weekend. Josie will be here, Wolgemut, Pint & Dale, Washer Well Wenches, Spainish Flamenco Dancers, Cross Rogues, Tourdion, Craig of Farrington, The Bristol Buskers etc, etc. Walks are at least at 1:30 P.M> and 4:30P.M. if we can get enough wenches. Scenario this year dals with some form of Robin Hood, don't ask how he turns up in Elizabethan England as I don't know. LOL, I've only made gate once and it was pouring rain. If not around the Hostel, I can be found at hte Friends of Faire Garden.
See you Saturday ! :aok:

I too may be found in the Friends of Faire Garden most of the day...but if you swing by I'm sure they'll let me out to play. I'll be at both Walks both days. There are tons of shows to see...my personal faves...MOONIE...Dirk and Guido the Swordsmen..and the Robin Hood Scanarios at the Cheshire Chase stage are great. The Washer Well Wenches and The Mud Show are good for faire-virgins but the gals are a bit risque for very young children. I hardly ever get to watch musicians but Craig of Farrington comes in a seranades me in the Garden and Seelie Court pop in every so ofern, so I'm biased. Court is beautiful this year, albeit small, but most of the players have new garb. They are always great to go and rest with, they are very accomodating. Can't wait to meet you this weekend.

Thanks for the info and advice -- it's looking most likely that Sunday will be the day.
Question about FoF -- PARF discontinued FoF this year in favor of a 'Royal Pass' thing (which I bought, but didn't bring with me or anything)....if I go to the FoF garden area, will they let me in? :) Or do I just have to peek my head in and do a shout out? :) :)
Looking forward to decent weather -- had fun watching the huge storms that ripped through the area (we're in Plainfield, IL), but wouldn't want to be caught in something like *that* at Faire.... ;)
