Not even sure I spelled that right!

Anyways, a co-worker of mine recommended this author, Morgan Llewellyn to me...particularly a book called "The Red ___________" CRAP! :augh: brain fart. Can't remember the name. It's about Cuchulan, though. Irish mythology, that sort of thing. Searched through the old postings here but didn't come up with a match.

SO, has anyone read any books by this author? What did/do you think?

Cheers,
Leela
who just finished "The Scar" and is looking for a quick read.

Morgan Llewellyn is NOT a quick read - she goes very in depth, lots of detail, goodcharacterbuilding, very dense books. Good research in them - I highly recommend her stuff, but they are not a light read.

I love her stuff. The book you are referring to is The Red Branch (called
On Raven's Wing in UK) "Powerful . . . A lusty, poetic and legendary world based on Ireland's mythical warrior-hero Cuchulain." The New York Times Book Review.

Thanks for the info, ladies!

I'll have to definately pick up The Red Branch...and I'll consider myself forwarned...NOT a light read. Check. :D

Methinks this calls for a hot pot O' tea and some ginger cookies...

Maybe someone'll know: in one pf her books, which I read a hopelessly long time ago, there's a woman who doesn't particularly want to marry this man, but she does, and there's a description of the wedding vows. One of the things was, "I won't tolerate people speaking ill of you in my presence," or words to that effect. It sounded quite good. I can't remember the rest of it, though, and I've never been able to find it again. Any ideas?
