I like "Balderdash"...a game where you try to decide which definition of a bizarre word is the REAL one, and which ones were made up by the other team to bluff you.

It must be my inner English teacher...I just love word games...oh, and Scattergories too!

Uno rocks! I have been playing it with HG since she's been about 5. Nothing made her happier than beating me at that game. It was pretty sad when she still beat me when I did not even throw the game anymore

Trouble, Parchesie(sp?), Sorry are still some of my favorite games.

Uno's good, but Uno Attack is better.

http://www.areyougame.com/interact/item.asp?itemno=MA41943

Same basic idea, but instead of just drawing a card off the deck you push a button which will shoot zero to a sh*t load of cards at you.

Risk and Parchessi also rock.

Card game: Hand and Foot...or as I call it, Piss and Moan. Frustrating and fun, It's a great partner game.

Board games: Cribbage with my Da. Monopoly (England is now offering a game with Debit Cards instead of cash and instead of winning a beaty pagent, one wins a reality show) Trivia Pursuit. I love that game.

I kick some serious ass at Balderdash! My local peeps usually spot me an extra half-loop to even up the odds. I also like Chrononauts, and anything from Steve Jackson or Cheapass Games

We have a bi-weekly gaming group at the home of some friends, and have from 4-12 people.

Trivial Pursuit--just got the Book Lover's Edition, but I haven't had a chance to play it yet...and Scrabble. I used to play Scrabble with my mom a lot, and she was GOOD.

I also liked the old version of Life, but the newer version isn't nearly as much fun.

My husband and I turn into bloodthirsty competitors when we play Air Hockey...

I don't really play board games, and there's only one card game where I'll seek out other people to play with. Too bad no one else plays it.

Card game: Whist

Oooooh, I forgot Song Burst! There's an 80's edition of that, hard to find but it's SO much fun...I played once with the spouse, and another married couple (girls vs. guys). We were unstoppable! The guys kept trying to get us to accept a handicap to play, LOL...we wiped the floor with 'em. They ended up pouting over it. ::snort::

I have the 80's edition, I had to find a used game site to buy it. It cost me $60, but it was a b-day present for my best friend so it was worth it.

Scattergories, Uno, Trouble, Checkers, Chess, Scene-It games, Moods, Monopoly

Oh my gosh! I LOVE Moods! It is so funny trying to figure out which "mood" someone is trying to portray. I also have this old game that came out in the 80's called Fireball Island. The game board is HUGE!

I like the game Trouble also. We've got the original one, the box is like from the 60s or 70s, not sure which. I am sure it is one of the first editions though. I also (of course) have Stitch Trouble.

Uno decks, we have an old set, a Harry Potter set & I think a Care Bears set that someone got for me.

I have at least 3 or 4 different kinds of Monopoly games. I know I have the Star Wars, Scooby-Doo, Disney & regular. I don't recall if I have a Harry Potter one or not though. If not, I want one.

Being the total geek that I am I LOVE Hero Quest:-D Oh and all my friends and family insist I make the best villain/gamemaster so I have to take the role when we play (which is cool cuz I LOVE being mean to the critters on the board;). I also LOVE these two games a friend introduced to me a couple of months back, one is kind of like group solitare and the other involves cretins and peons (can't remember the name of it but it has its own cards).

Skipping down memory lane though, my favorite board games are Mousetrap and Hungry Hungry Hippos (does that qualify as a board game?:)

ACK! I LOVED Fireball Island!!! OMG I forgot all about that game:-D I also forgot to mention earlier I used to LOVE playing the Ghostbusters board game, you get to knock people down the stairs and drop boulders on them LOL I think 13 Dead End Alley (or something like that) is similar but there aren't as many booby traps and they aren't as cool:)

My Fireball Island game is complete except for the instruction manual. I am still searching for it on Ebay & stuff. Most of the time, they want to sell it with the game, which I already have. I would settle for a photocopy of the instruction manual in its entirety at this point.

Have you tried contacting the company who makes it (I think it was Milton Bradley wasn't it?) maybe they have it in an archive somewhere or could tell you where you could get it. What about one of those retro sites like 80s.com?
