ROFL!
Hysterical mutilation of the intended message...

I gotta feel sorry for the translators. Welsh is NOT an easy language! Beautiful, lyrical, lovely to listen to, but not easy to learn.
I submit this place name (http://www.nwt.co.uk/english/anglesey/llanfairpg.htm) as an extreme example...maybe you've heard of it?

The postcards you send home from there are probably 16X20, and pronouncing it makes my head hurt...

:stunned: Good grief. I thought my full name was long. Yeesh, that's a mighty long name for a village!

Its full name is Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwll-llantysiliogogogoch which means The Church of St Mary in the hollow of the white hazel near the rapid whirlpool and the church of St Tysilio near a red cave, although it is usually shortened to Llanfairpwll or Llanfair P.G..

Geshundheit.

Yeah. Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllantysiliogo gogoch beats out the name of the lake I grew up nearby...Lake Chargoggagoggmanchaugagoggchaubunagungamaug.

We just called it "Webster Lake."
Supposedly, it's a Native American name meaning "You fish on your side, I'll fish on my side, nobody fish in the middle".

Oh! And the double-L sound in Welsh is my all time favorite...put your tongue just behind your upper front teeth (like making the "t" noise) and let the air from the "t" noise come out at the sides of your tongue. In other words, don't move the tip of your tongue when you make the sound. Halfway between a "t" and an "L" noise.
Best I can figure, the town's name would approximate:
"Tlan-fair-pootl-gwin-gill-go-ger-ick-wirn-dro-boo-tlanty-silly-o-go-go-gock"...but don't quote me. ;-)
