Brazilian model Ana Carolina Reston has passed away at the tender age of 21 due to complications from anorexia.
Reston weighed an alarming 85 lbs at the time of her death.
The model's mother, released the following statement to parents all over the world:
"Take care of your children ... no money is worth the life of your child, not even the most famous (fashion) brand is worth this."

one that bothers me - they are starting to make head way with the fact that eating disorders effect everyone - no matter what race, creed, color, religion, gender etc.
Yet for the NEWS the other night they were calling in "manorexia" - umm excuse me it is Anorexia and yes men can suffer from it also - especially in this day and age of the super thin look.
Maybe just because I am female - I never saw it as a women's issue. I saw it as a public issue that could effect anyone at anytime.

That irritates me. It's like saying they don't operate under the "stigma" of anorexia. Nope, sorry, it's a disease just like the flu - everyone can get it and it's called the same thing.
