Is this the type of thing that ya want information about? I've been slowly crocheting for "Warm up America" (the past 2 years or so). I started out making rectangles, but decided that with all the odd skeins I've got, I could make a whole afghan easier than making a bunch of rectangles that needed to be stitched together. So, finally, I got busy during our cross-country vacation & finished a rainbow afghan. :bananada:
I'm also trying to figure out how to make an easy weaving project for the kid's in our Sunday school/Children's church so they can help make squares/rectangles to be combined into more afghans. I think trying to teach them how to crochet may be beyond their capabilities at this age. I know many of them have done weaving on a piece of cardboard (makes a bag), though, since I've never done that myself, I need to find complete instructions. I've got enough yarn sitting around the house to make at least one more (~4' X 5') afghan (the largest size requested for "WuA"), or several baby/lap afghans. So I'm fairly motivated to get the kids to help me. Besides, they need the opportunity for some hands-on charity work. Any ideas? :hmm:
