I've put off my garb fabric searches for a quest to find fabric for a new Irish dance costume :singdanc: I found a gorgeous "Cadet blue" silk dupioni that I want to use as part of it, but now I'm looking for an extremely light blue fabric to compliment it (preferably dupioni or shantung). I've been browsing fabric.com, denverfabrics.com, hancock, joanns, ebay, etc, but haven't found just the right thing. If I can't find anything, I'll just pair the cadet blue with white, but I've been told that might not be good with my coloring (red hair, blue eyes, fair), so I thought maybe an ice blue type color (almost white but still blue) might be good. Help! Any sources, etc, would be great! And hey...nobody here happens to MAKE Irish dance solo dresses, do they??? :D

Not yet, but I've been told I should, and I'm reeeeally intrigued by them. No idea how I'd do the appliques, though.

Anyhow, if you can send me a swatch, I can do some searching on Fabric Row when next I go down there. My favourite store has BUSHELS of silk.
