Wheee!!
That's one of the MP songs I know by heart--and very educational!

That was cute.
I know that song by heart too. Saw "Meaning of Life" the second time in a drive-in and recorded the entire audio with a tape recorder in the car set close to the speaker. When I got home I listened to the song over and over so I could transcribe the lyrics down on paper and learn them by heart.
Oh...the things we did back in the days before VCR's and the internet. 8-)

And you know in those days, I didn't understand the phrase 'cause there's bugger all down here on earth.' Did you have any idea what that was?
About Britspeak, you could say I knew (say it with me, Mags!): F**k all, squared...in a box. So some things went right over my head at that point.
Our PBS station used to run reruns of MPFC at 12:30 on Sunday nights. You could bet I was draggin at school on Mondays.
I learned a lot from MP.... and not all of it was completely useless!

I did actually know that. Although I may've thought it was "bugger off" rather than "all."
We had English friends when I was growing up in the 70's. My parents had been back and forth to England and we were friends with several families who came to the states. My dad's best friend was an English professor who frequently had English writers over to give talks to his classes. They'd eventually wind up at our place for dinner or a party. So I was using English phrases and slang at an extremely young age.
The main errors I had with the song were the numbers. For example...once when he says 19 I thought it was 90. Imagine my embarrasment when I learned the truth. 8-)
